43w ago - Sony Director of Product Planning & Platform Software Innovation Don Mesa has announced today that the PlayStation Home Arcade App is available today for PS Vita.
Below are the details, to quote:
Since launch, PS Vita owners have gained access to lots of great applications on our new handheld, and we don't have any plans to slow down. We're rolling out a brand new app that brings many classic arcade games, along with a few new titles that were previously available only through PlayStation Home. We call it PlayStation Home Arcade.
PlayStation Home Arcade is available today and serves as a portal for some of your favorite arcade classics like Centipede, Asteroids, and Frogger. We're also offering more recent titles, like Icebreaker and the very addicting Scribble Shooter, which was previously only available in PlayStation Home.
The PlayStation Home Arcade app is a free download in the PlayStation Store, and you can purchase games from directly within the app, starting at $1.49 each. To celebrate the launch, we're offering Ice Breaker, WipEout 2D and a demo of Scribble Shooter absolutely free!
If you've purchased any of the available titles as arcade cabinets within PlayStation Home, you can download these titles again on PS Vita at no additional cost.
44w ago - DC Universe Online Executive Producer Larry Liberty has announced that DC Universe Online Home Turf PS3 DLC is available today with details below, as follows:
Today our latest DLC pack - Home Turf - went live! Home Turf is our sixth DLC and brings with it the biggest addition to DC Universe Online since the launch of the game two years ago - Player Bases.
Bases are a player-created and controlled space that can be used as a venue of self-expression in addition to being a place for combat. Perhaps the most important part of your Base is the Mainframe. Through it, players can unlock several new abilities. In a lot of ways it's like having your very own Bat Computer.
The thing you're likely to notice when you first enter your Base is a terminal on the wall next to the front door. This is your Base's Control Panel, and by interacting with this you can relocate or rename your Base, or enter Decoration Mode.
Decoration Mode pops you into a first-person camera, allowing you to easily zoom around your Base, placing and moving items and amenities. The latter can include things like an R&D Station, Broker, Mailbox, or Bank. Basically, the things that you otherwise would need to visit a Safehouse or HQ to use - in the convenience of your own home.
59w ago - Lockwood Publishing Director Sophia Coney has announced that the free-to-play shooter dubbed Uproar is hitting PlayStation Home today alongside a video trailer below.
To quote: Uproar is a frantic and fun third-person shooter exclusive to PlayStation Home. Why play cover to cover when you can free roam?
Uproar is the first avatar based free-roaming third-person shooter in PlayStation Home and it pulls out all the stops to bring you an experience unlike anything seen on the platform before.
The game is extremely easy to jump into and play, the controls and gameplay will be instantly familiar to anyone who has played a third-person shooter before, however there are some very interesting tweaks to spice up the gameplay and keep it all feeling fresh.
We think it'll give you and your friends countless hours of fun battling it out within the Uproar Arena.
Pick your side. You can choose to fight on the side of either of our two gangs; the Outlaws or the Swyfts, as they battle for respect within the Uproar Arena.
Each gang has its own unique set of clothing available within the inventory screen (all of which is wearable outside of the game), as well as a set of gang booths in the Uproar Lobby to hang out in with your fellow gang members and chat before...
