To quote: Last night I had the chance to try and downgrade a Slim Ps3 (JSD-001 board with Spansion NOR) version 3.70 to CFW 3.55 using Dospiedra's downgrade v2 patches.

I managed to get a clean dump of the NOR using my ProgSkeet (latest QT port used), created a patched Downgrade.bin image using the 6 patched files from Dospiedra and a hex editor, then I flashed the image to the PS3 NOR, dumped the NOR another time and verified that all was written fine.

Then I continued with the normal downgrade procedure, go into service mode, update using the 3.55_no_check.PUP,...

Or its not with you, or you just maybe went on a trip and took your PS3 along with you but there was no HDTV where you were going.

There is only one problem: it wont show no video or hear sound.. Thank God you got YouTube!

Ok here we go watch the clip I made.. sorry not a real video, just an Instructional video.. I don't like making videos.

Video Game Piracy: The Widening Problem and How to Stop It

50°
315w ago - iTWire of Australia thinks they have found the best way to limit video game piracy. Upon checking the top sellers list, they found it was dominated by Wii games such as Mario Kart, Wii Fit and Wii Play... all of which come with some kind of peripheral.

So they feel that as the games require the hardware, then people are less inclined to pirate the games. Moreover, special editions can still make a difference with nice little gifts inside such as key rings, extra content discs, etc.

To quote: See a trend? Sure the top three are games for the Wii, but more importantly, four of the top 5 have some sort of peripheral hardware associated with the game. This trend continues when you break it down across platforms - at least at the console level.

Guitar Hero: World Tour and its associated microphone, guitar and drum peripherals hold down two of the top ten Nintendo Wii sales chart positions, features in both PS2 and PS3 top ten and along with the Karaoke game, Lips (and its microphones) also appears in the Xbox 360 top ten.

Nintendo have released a bundled pack with Animal Crossing for the Wii, with the Wii Speak peripheral. I think they have cottoned on to it, avoid game piracy by packaging your software with a new piece of hardware, whether the game actually needs it or not.

NXE Highlights Serious XBox 360 HDD Problem

300°
316w ago - We love hard drives. When your home console is strapping a big arsed HDD you don't have to leave Alex Kidd on overnight, you don't have to remember sixty-two digit save passwords, and you no longer have to mourn the death of an 8 MB memory card as if it was a family member.

Make no mistake fellow gamers, hard drives rock. Even still, if you had have told us in 2005 that three years later we'd be complaining about 'only having' 20 gigs of space for our Xbox 360, we would have built a time machine to travel forwards in time to knee ourselves in the groin.

But times they do a-change, especially when you're talking storage. HDD sizes always increase at a frantic rate, and their prices can change just as quick. Just ask one of your PC gaming buddies - you know, the bloke you stay friends with because he has sixteen terabytes of porn - he'll set you straight on the virtues of having HDD space to spare.

Now that the DLC era is fully upon us, it's becoming increasingly obvious that console gamers need not only 'the Gs' to buy content, we also need to have 'the GBs' to store all of it. This is especially true with the New Xbox Experience; you know, that fancy pants dashboard update that had some mixed surprises for all of us.

On the plus side it can now reduce load times by...

Sony PlayStation 3 Firmware 2.50: Black And White Video Problem

200°
322w ago - The latest Sony PS3 Firmware 2.50 update added many great features to all of our Playstation 3's, but we are also getting many reports of problems as well. The main problem with the latest update seems to be related to the DivX VOD addition.

Some users have video displaying in black and white, although it worked fine before updating. You can read some of the problems users have reported below, feel free to share a comment once reading.

If you have video on your HD don't get if you have an SD TV unless you like black and white, I found out the hard way.

I downloaded 2.50 yesterday, I also have same problem with my videos showing only in black and white plus small difference in sound. I really hope that Sony fixes this bug fast, because this is not what I paid for. Also I'm very disappointed over the freezing of GTA IV still not fixed.

It's completely stopped my current DivX movies from working correctly! (Black and white, funny lines at the top of my screen) I didn't pay R6000 for this. What gives?

About 100gb of films I have are now black and white... not Alfred...
