66w ago - Sony Marketing Promotions Specialist Michael Steranka has shared some fresh video footage today announcing that the EA Sports Challenge Series is returning to the PlayStation 3 entertainment system.
To quote: Attention PlayStation Nation: we're back with the biggest gaming tournament of the year - the $1 Million EA Sports Challenge Series powered by Virgin Gaming!
Last year, we blew the doors off of the sports gaming scene and now we're giving you another chance to take home huge cash prizes for playing FIFA 13, Madden NFL 13 and NHL 13.
To get a taste of what last year's experience was like, check out this video recap from the 2012 tournament finals in New York.
Last year in NYC, we made legends out of Adam Winster (FIFA 12 Challenge Champion), Tyler Glen (Madden NFL 12 Challenge Champion) and John Grasso (NHL 12 Challenge Champion). These gamers took home life-changing prizes and will be defending their titles in 2013. Bring your best game and you could be crowned this year's champ.
So How Does it Work?
This year's tournament structure has been simplified, so even if you've never played in a video game tournament before it won't take you long to get into the action. In fact, it only takes six wins to secure your spot at the live tournament...
81w ago - Sony Associate Product Manager Ken Chan has posted up a GT Academy 2012 PS3 update today which covers how and when to unlock prizes for competitors.
To quote: Welcome to week four of this year's GT Academy competition! By now you've probably learned the basic fundamentals of the racing line, variable high-speed cornering, continuous elevation changes, and multi-radius acceleration, all while trying to maintain the highest grip possible to maximize corner exit speed.
If you achieved a Gold Trophy in all five events within a round, you will unlock the GT Academy-spec Nissan used in the trials of that round. Prizes will be distributed one week after the online competition of GT Academy ends, which is on or after July 4th, 2012.
Here are the four cars you can unlock in Rounds 1 through 4:
169w ago - Sony's Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein has announced today that those who wish to experience PlayStation Move in San Francisco can do so this Friday along with winning some prizes and lounging in Kevin Butler's office!
To quote: As you know, the PlayStation Move will be available this weekend, and to help give you a preview of the fun times ahead, we've set up "PlayStation HQ" locations in cities throughout the U.S. so you can get some hands-on time with the games before launch.
I haven't had a chance to drop by and prop my feet on Kevin Butler's desk, so I'm planning to rectify that this Friday.
Why don't you join me? I promise to bring along pizza, schwag, and even some PlayStation Move bundles and software to raffle off to those who visit.
The cool thing about these venues is, we're granting hands-on time with some of these Move-enabled games that most people have never tried. Here's the title list for Friday night's meet-up:
• LittleBigPlanet 2
• Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition
• The Shoot
• Time Crisis: Razing Storm
• Singstar Dance
• Sports Champions
• The Fight: Lights Out
We've already got the media combatants lined up. What about the gamers who'll face them? Well we're hoping that you're reading this post! If you're going to be in the San Francisco area next Wednesday, April 21st, we cordially invite you to our Fat Princess: Tournament of Cake.
Community members will be going head-to-head against members of the media for the bragging rights and fun prizes! Teams will consist of four members on each team, and losers will get eliminated down until the ultimate community and media teams are left standing - they'll then battle it out for the grand prize the coveted title of Cake Boss (ok, never mind, that's Buddy Valastro).
At the end of the night, all community members who participate will walk away with a free downloadable voucher code for Fat Princess:...
203w ago - NIS America's Product and Development Manager for Europe Allison Walter has shared a video today which offers a look at Disgaea 2 for PS3 along with details on how to snag some NIS America prizes!
To quote: You might believe that Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days is just another re-release of a fantastic game, but what some of you might not know is that NIS has improved on the fantastic part.
The programmers and designers got together to create some goodies to render the game play even more interesting and the story hilarious: 4 new chapters, Axel, a new main character, Magichange, and a ton of cameos from your beloved Disgaea cast of suspects.
The most important addition is the 4 new chapters featuring Axel, the has-been pop star with a crushing family responsibility. Pining to be at the top once more with hordes of screaming fans anxious to get a piece of him, Axel stumbles upon an opportunity to take part in a superhero show popular among kids. He sees himself already at the top only to... well, you'll be able to find out what destiny has in mind for him when you play the game.
Next lovely addition: Disgaea 2 has Magichange, the newfangled weapon system from Disgaea 3. This tricky little system enables monster allies to transform into a weapon. What's even trickier is...
