Sony Announces Powers: Dramatic Series Hits PSN This December

50°
11w ago - Sony Network Entertainment Vice President Mike Aragon announced today that the Powers: Dramatic Series hits PSN this December with details below.

To quote: As PlayStation fans, you've probably heard a few whispers about "Powers" - the original live-action series set to premiere exclusively on PSN in the United States this December. Today, the "Powers" team announced some exciting news as we prepare to begin shooting.

We have our first director! David Slade has signed on to direct the first two episodes of "Powers." David has most recently directed episodes of NBC's "Hannibal" and AMC's "Breaking Bad," plus films like 30 Days of Night, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, and Hard Candy.

But if you haven't read the graphic novels, fear not. In a nutshell, "Powers" is an edgy dramatic series that follows the lives of two homicide detectives, Christian Walker and Deena Pilgrim, who are assigned to investigate cases involving people with superhuman abilities, referred to as Powers.

Set amidst today's paparazzi culture, "Powers" asks the questions, what if the world was full of superheroes who aren't actually heroic at all? What if all that power was just one more excuse for mischief, mayhem, murder, and endorsement deals?

Enter the men and women of the Powers Division,...

19w ago - Xdev Studio Europe Producer Chris Jones revealed the powers of Murasaki Baby on PS Vita below today!

To quote: Hello, PlayStation fans! Since our announcement of Murasaki Baby, the team at Ovosonico has been hard at work perfecting the game. Today we wanted to share some details on the gameplay in Chapter 3 with you.

In Murasaki Baby, Baby wakes up in a nightmarish dream world with all sorts of frightening creations straight from a child's imagination. So far, on her journey to find her Mommy, Baby has made two new friends and used eight background mood powers in the previous two chapters.

For those of you who may not recall, as you and Baby journey through this nightmarish land, you'll make use of the various backgrounds and their powers to help, guide, and protect her. Using PS Vita's rear touch screen, you can swipe with your finger to switch between backgrounds.

Below are four new background moods that Baby comes across in this chapter of the game:

• The black and white background is called the "Heart of Stone." Tapping the PlayStation Vita's rear touch pad will make Baby's balloon magically become as heavy as stone. Perfect for the occasion when you need something solid to hold on to.

• The blue background is called "Frozen Hell" and will freeze...

To quote: There's a hushed excitement at Sucker Punch as we approach our March 21st launch date. We've been working on inFAMOUS Second Son for almost three years, and in just a few days we'll finally be able to put it into your hands.

Like the previous games in the inFAMOUS series, Second Son gives you the option to use your powers heroically or ruthlessly. The path you choose will affect every aspect of the game, from character relationships to powers development to the story itself.

In this play through, Delsin has convinced Fetch Walker, a Conduit with the power to control neon, to help him take out a group of anti-Conduit protesters. With Delsin's influence, Fetch is willing to exterminate the "haters" and anyone else who gets...

Video: The Powers of InFamous Second Son PS4: Smoke vs. Neon

50°
45w ago - Lead Designer at Sucker Punch Productions Jaime Griesemer made available a video today dubbed The Powers of InFamous Second Son PS4: Smoke vs. Neon below.

To quote: Sure, when you play inFAMOUS Second Son, you're going to "enjoy your power." But which one are you going to enjoy the most?

Delsin absorbs the ability to control Smoke in his hometown, and then goes to Seattle to find more conduits and gain their powers, starting with Neon. These power sources have different strengths and weaknesses, requiring you to change up your tactics. This has led to an ongoing debate on the design team about which power is actually the best.

Darren Bridges (Power Designer): Ok, is this really a debate? Smoke is the clear winner. There's nothing better than dashing in and choke-slamming some DUP stooge, then firing a Cinder Blast that destroys the tower his buddies are standing on.

Jaime Griesemer (Lead Designer): Sure, if you want to get your hands dirty, Smoke is great. But Neon is clean and streamlined. You're basically firing lasers out of your hands, so you're a natural sniper.

With Neon, combat is all about precision from a distance. Each shot hits hard, especially if you're targeting the enemy's weak points. Neon lets you dissect a squad of Dupes like a...

Video: Puppeteer Powers: Heads Will Roll on PlayStation 3

60w ago - Sony Worldwide Studios Art Director Gavin Moore shared a video today showcasing Puppeteer Powers dubbed Heads Will Roll on PlayStation 3.

To quote: Puppeteer is nearly upon us. To keep you satisfied until launch on September the 10th, we put together a short video that explains some of the concepts behind the strange and fantastical world of Puppeteer.

I would ignore the weird English guy and his funny accent and concentrate on all the luscious, varied gameplay. If you like what you see - and you're looking for a unique gaming experience this fall - then don't hesitate to pre-order and pick up Puppeteer's soundtrack for free.

Kutaro can collect more than 100 heads in Puppeteer, from the Hamburger head to the Lion head. But none are more valuable than the Hero Heads, each of which bestows Kutaro with a powerful new ability that you'll keep for the rest of the adventure.

The Knight Head will enable you to deflect incoming projectiles with the Shield Power - a useful method for dealing with some of Puppeteer's massive bosses. With the Ninja Head you'll wield the powerful Bomb Power, which enables you to hurl explosives at enemies and blow up parts of the environment.

With the Moon Pirate Head, you can hurl a grappling hook that yanks enemies closer or...
