Vertex Pop: Twin-stick Shooter We Are Doomed to Hit PS4, PS Vita

50°
5w ago - Vertex Pop's Mobeen Fikree announced today that Twin-stick Shooter We Are Doomed is slated to hit both PS4 and PS Vita platforms.

To quote: Hello there! I'm Mo, founder of Vertex Pop, a tiny independent video game studio based in Toronto, Canada.

I'm really excited to introduce We Are Doomed, a twin-stick shooter where you zap polygon baddies with an insanely overpowered laserbeam. I want to tell you all about the core mechanics of the game, the unique visuals, and my plans to bring it to PS4 and PS Vita.

And I'll be showing We Are Doomed at PlayStation Experience next month, so please come by if you're attending!

The first thing you'll notice is that the player is armed with a powerful but close-range laserbeam weapon. If you want to get anywhere in We Are Doomed, you need to dive right into the action. Hanging back and picking off baddies will simply not do.

You'll also want to charge your already overpowered laserbeam into a SUPERBEAM, which is when things get a little absurd. The SUPERBEAM is a brief triumph: a beam that goes all the way across the screen, zapping everything it touches in short order. You'll want to make the most of your time with it. But remember to keep your cool, because you're still vulnerable when using it.

The entire game...

To quote: Hi there, readers! In just a few weeks, you'll be able to play Peggle 2 on your PS4. The comments and feedback we've received since our announcement at PAX have been so supportive and fantastic.

When we launch on PlayStation Store on October 14th, we've got all kinds of great stuff waiting for our fans. Peggle 2 on PS4 displays in native 1080p at 60 frames per second.

There are five different Peggle Masters to play through, Trials to test your skill, as well as Peg Party and Duels for multiplayer fun.

We've even got a Platinum Trophy waiting for the elite Peggle players!

All this writing doesn't do the game justice, though. How can you explain the magic of a head-banging unicorn in mere text?

We're going to give you a chance to see the PS4 version of Peggle 2 in action! The official [Register or Login to view links] will be hosting a live feed from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Pacific tomorrow, and you'll get to see Peggle 2 running on PS4 in all its magical glory.

During the stream, you'll have a chance to talk with me and Guy Whitmore,...

Video: Bubble-popping RPG Supermagical Coming to PS3 and PS Vita

50°
69w ago - Tama Games Producer Alan Crane shared a video today on the bubble-popping RPG Supermagical which is coming to both PS3 and PS Vita platforms.

To quote: Hello everyone. My name is Alan Crane from Tama Games, and I am the producer of Supermagical, writing to you now here to tell you about our upcoming PSN title.

With Supermagical, we wanted to create a classic bubble-popping game and the traditional, yet with ever-so enticing RPG (Role Playing Game) elements.

You will be able to unlock mighty allies, level them up with awesome power-ups, create new spells, acquire special items to advance your abilities as well - and the rest I'd like to save for you guys to find out!

If you are on the fence about this unorthodox combination of bubble-popping and RPG don't fret. We wanted this to be a fun and memorable experience for everyone. Everyone involved in this game is a true gamer with a strong passion for making games that every gamer and non-gamer would enjoy playing.

We make sure the games we make are those we would enjoy playing ourselves. There are no big firms or big bags of cash exchanging hands here - without mentioning any names, but there is more than one of us still indwelling the parent's basement and working from there. We are doing this basically...

Seeing as this was the creative director behind such PlayStation classics as Killer7 and Shadows of the Damned, not to mention the forthcoming Lollipop Chainsaw itself, it was too good a chance to miss!

Here's what Suda51 had to say about the game, working with the creator of the Resident Evil series and his creative processes.

Where do you get the inspiration from for your off-the-wall characters?

Suda51: Well, first of all I think about gameplay and a story. I could be taking a bus somewhere and spot an interesting old man walking down the street....

PopCap Games Confirms Bejeweled 3 Glimmers on PSN Tomorrow

50°
138w ago - PopCap Games Director of Editorial and Social Media Jeff Green has confirmed that tomorrow Bejeweled 3 will glimmer for fans on PSN.

To quote: I've got some good news for Bejeweled fans: We stopped watching kitten videos, fixed the hamster wheel, and are now happy to report that Bejeweled 3 is finally coming to PlayStation Network! Huzzah!

Now if you've played Bejeweled 1 or 2 before, you may be asking why you should upgrade to Bejeweled 3. "How much different could they make a Match 3 game?" you may ask.

"What do I do this time- Match 4?" "Do I really need to give those clowns more of my money just to swap more gems?"

I'm going to be perfectly honest with you: Yes, you do. I mean, "need" is such a relative word, when you think about it. I mean, sure, I suppose some of you "need" to pay the rent, or feed your family, rather than buy the new Bejeweled. Whatever.

Frankly, the landlord can probably wait a few days, and I'm sure there are plenty of leftovers in your fridge if your family starts whining at you while clutching their swollen, distended stomachs. Meanwhile, those gems in Bejeweled 3 aren't going to swap themselves, are they? No sir. No, they are not. I rest my case.

But perhaps you want a few details on what it is you're actually buying...
