Sony Goes Hands-on with DmC: Definitive Edition on PlayStation 4

23h ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Ryan Clements went hands-on today with DmC: Definitive Edition on PlayStation 4 with details below.

To quote: When DmC: Devil May Cry launched in January of 2013, Ninja Theory introduced the world to a fresh interpretation of an iconic video game (anti)hero.

Half angel, half demon, the Dante of DmC not only fought legions of demon spawn, but the misinformation of an evil corporation. The demon king Mundus took a CEO's office, not a dark throne. It was a new game world, and Dante kicked its ass.

Now the smart-talking Dante fights on in DmC: Definitive Edition, launching March 10th on PS4. It's an enhanced version of the original PS3 game with a slew of new features and a layer of polish that makes Dante's demon-killing exploits and confident gunplay even more satisfying.

I had a chance to put the Definitive Edition through its paces, and managed to avoid embarrassing myself in the Bloody Palace along the way.

Starting with the basics: the Definitive Edition runs at 60 frames per second in crisp 1080p. This propels the fast-paced combat and kinetic environments to new heights, enhancing Dante's deft swordwork and the ever-shifting realm of Limbo.

To fully wring every advantage out of these new performance upgrades, the...

Videos: Introducing the Story of The Awakened Fate Ultimatum on PS3

2d ago - NISA's Tiffany Chin introduced the story of The Awakened Fate Ultimatum on PS3 today with some new PlayStation 3 videos below!

To quote: Just another day in the life of a high school student - wake up, go to school, walk back home, get stabbed in the heart by some demons, become a god No big deal.

If that sounds familiar to you, then you must live quite an exciting life. But for those who haven't become a god, you can in NIS America's new PS3 game The Awakened Fate Ultimatum, coming out on March 17th in North America.

Guide ordinary high school student Shin Kamikaze (super epic name) as he learns the ropes of being god in The Awakened Fate Ultimatum. While sleeping on the school's rooftop, Shin has a cryptic dream with a mysterious girl babbling about fate and saving the world, but is suddenly woken up by his friend.

Thinking nothing of the weird dream, he heads home, but gets stopped by a group of demons flying down from the sky. One of the demons looks at him, apologizes, and then proceeds to stab him in the chest. As he's dying, an angel swoops down to fight off the demons and takes him off to a place called Celestia.

Awaking to a red-headed scientist named Ariael, he is told that...

Apotheon Coming to PlayStation 4 February 3rd, Free for PS Plus

750°
2d ago - Alientrap's Lee Vermeulen announced today that Apotheon is coming to PlayStation 4 on February 3rd, and will be free for PS Plus subscribers!

Below are the details, to quote: So in our last post we said that Apotheon would be launching sometime in January. Turns out we were off by a few days. Apotheon will actually be launching on February 3rd, 2015. But, we've got a really good excuse!

The reason for the short delay is because Apotheon will also be featured as part of Playstation Plus, and will be free for the month of February to all Playstation Plus subscribers for PS4! Check out our new launch trailer showing off a bit of our voice acting talent.

While sorting out all the paperwork involved with this deal, we've had a bit of extra time to do even more optimizations and playtesting to polish off the last few bugs. With the help of Sickhead Games doing the PS4 version, we're very happy with how the game has shaped up, and are very excited to finally release it to the world!

Back when we first started development in 2012, our original aspirations were much different. Apotheon actually started life as a sci-fi open world game where the player could sneak around a giant space station and cause trouble...

Sony Unveils PlayStation Plus: February 2015 Free PSN Games

850°
2d ago - Sony Senior Community Specialist Kristine Steimer unveiled the upcoming PlayStation Plus free PSN games for February, 2015 today!

To quote: This is a pretty awesome month for PlayStation Plus members with a variety of quality titles across PlayStation platforms entering the service.

On PlayStation 4 you'll receive one of the coolest games from last year - the critically acclaimed strategy/action RPG Transistor. PS4 owners will also get Apotheon, an action platformer set in Greek mythology, the day it releases on PlayStation Store.

PlayStation 3 owners can explore the ins and outs of Tokyo with Yakuza 4 or sneak about The City stealing what you can in Thief.

PlayStation Vita owners can see how many generations of champions it takes to beat the quirky Rogue Legacy and jump around as a little boy with a big gun (not so much for shooting enemies as it is launching you around) in Kick & Fennick, which is also releasing day and date in PlayStation Plus.

All of these games will be free for Plus members starting February 3rd. If you want to see these titles in action, check out the video below. When you watch, you may notice that the voice over has changed a bit, and my friend Ryan Clements is narrating instead of me.

He'll be handling the Plus communications...
