99w ago - Today Capcom Product Marketing Manager John Diamonon has officially revealed Resident Evil 6 for PlayStation 3 alongside a video trailer below!
To quote: Ni Hao PlayStation Playas, this is John Diamonon, the Brand Manager for Resident Evil in North America, and it's been a while my friends.
Last time I was here, I announced MvC3 and you were all like, "Yeah!" This time, I have news that's gonna make you say, "EFF yeah!"
It's my pleasure to announce that the next installment of the canonical Resident Evil series, Resident Evil 6, returns on November 20, 2012.
That gives you a whole month to enjoy the game (enjoy life really) before the end of the Mayan calendar when the real zombie apocalypse happens. We figure you might need some practice killing the infected to prepare yourself.
Oops. Did I say zombies? Resident Evil 6 has zombies? Watch the trailer and find out.
WHAAAAATTTTT??? Man, when I had hair in the 90's, it looked exactly like Leon's. I seriously think there's No Hope Left for his doo. He needs a fade or something.
Anyway, comment below and tell me what you think. Oh. It might be a day before I get...
134w ago - Today James Gallagher has shared a video and word that Capcom's Asuras Wrath currently points to a 2012 release on the PS3 entertainment system.
To quote: After seeing this trailer at Captivate, the hotel was rattling with chat of 'God Finger', 'Heavenly Point' and 'Space Cuticle'.
The game was actually Asura's Wrath and, with so many of the games on show such as Dragon's Dogma suggesting a shift towards more Western influences with new Capcom games, it had a distinctly Japanese feel along similar lines to the likes of God Hand.
However, while there's nothing new about an action game featuring gigantic Gods, there's one series that PlayStation fans are particularly familiar with, so I asked director Seiji Shimoda how far the similarities run...
First of all I'm honored for Asura's Wrath to be mentioned in the same breath as God of War - I have played it and it's an incredible game. Superficially, there are some resemblances but we're hoping that, as you see more of Asura's Wrath, you're going feel that it's something completely different; that it doesn't really compare with anything else in action gaming.
139w ago - SCEE Blog Manager James Gallagher has unveiled Capcom's announcement today alongside a video trailer of Dragon's Dogma for the PlayStation 3 entertainment system.
To quote: Dragon's Dogma is a new intellectual property from the creators of Devil May Cry 4 and Resident Evil 4. And while it resembles another Capcom series featuring monsters and the hunting thereof, we're promised a unique experience when the game launches in "early 2012."
I played a short demo and met with the game's director, Hideaki Itsuno, and it's producer, Hiroyuki Kabayashi, at Capcom's Captivate event in Miami last week.
"While they may have some superficial similarities, they are very different games at heart," explains Hideaki when asked about comparisons to Monster Hunter. "One key difference is that Dragon's Dogma has an overarching story whereas in Monster Hunter the focus is on the hunt."
In a nutshell, Dragon's Dogma is an open-world action adventure set in a world of swords, sorcery and enormous, deadly monsters. "When I was at junior high school I was really taken in by The Lord of the Rings, so I'm sure that has had a strong influence," explains Hideaki. "You can expect...
You know, the VGAs where you're going to see the debut of the new Resistance 3 trailer (I haven't even seen it yet), where God of War III will be contending for Game of the Year, and where who knows what other awesome things will happen? Those VGAs?
Well, like last year, we're holding a VGAs viewing party in LA, and you're invited [pointing at you]. We think fun experiences are best shared with friends - friends who are picking up the tab.
So we've teamed up with Capcom to transition their Food Fight into a viewing party for the VGAs broadcast. So please, drop...
