Video: Check Out Share Play PS4 in Action on PlayStation 4

1d ago - PlayStation Public Relations guru Andrew Kelly invites fans to check out Share Play PS4 in action today on PlayStation 4 in a video below.

To quote: The PS4 system software update v2.00, codenamed Masamune, will be available to download on Tuesday, October 28th.

One of the features included in the update that I'm most excited about is Share Play, and we put together a quick video to show you how this innovative feature works. Check it out!

As we've said before, the best way to think about Share Play is like a "virtual couch." To quote: PS4 1.76 Webkit Exploit

Developers nas and proxima have extended the recently released Vita Webkit exploit, and made it compatible with the latest PS4 firmware, firwmare 1.76. (Update: Proxima actually clarified that although this is the same webkit exploit, it was developed in parallel to the Vita exploit, and not “based” on it)

Their proof of concept code provides several samples, including a module dumper and some tool to create more advanced ROP code.

I am not close to my PS4 right now and cannot confirm if the Proof of Concept actually works, but the code looks perfectly legit, the devs behind this have a great track of record, and it should be a...

4d ago - Following up on the initial announcement, today both difference comparisons and a teardown in pictures of the new PS4 CUH-1100 and the previous PlayStation 4 CUH-1000 models are available with details below.

To quote: "If you want to know the differences between the first CUH-1000 series model of the PS4 and the new CUH-1100 series which Sony has been pushing on the market lately, the Japanese blog [Register or Login to view links] did an extensive teardown of the new console and found out every little discrepancy between the two SKUs.

Power consumption between the two models is about the same both in stand-by mode and when turned on, while the CUH-1100 is about 50 grams lighter than its older counterpart, weighing 2.70 Kg instead of 2.75.

The new motherboard has the model number SAB-001, while the original one was SAA-001. Below you can see two pictures featuring both sides of the new board.
