PlayStation Developer Suite Allows NES Emulation on PS Vita

113w ago - Recently the PlayStation Suite SDK went into Open Beta as part of Sony's Developer Program, and now someone has managed to successfully port the Nintendo (NES) emulator FCEU to PlayStation Vita on the latest PS Vita v1.67 Firmware.

It's pretty easy to do, you need:

1. PS Vita
2. Computer running Win XP/7
3. Files included below.

  • You will need to sign up for the development suite by going [Register or Login to view links] on your PS Vita browser and clicking Try now then clicking download under section 2. (this is a Sony site and the download link will launch the PS Store on your Vita)

Sony Unveils PlayStation Suite SDK Developer Program Presentation

121w ago - Following up on our previous article, this weekend [Register or Login to view links] has made available a [Register or Login to view links] slideshow of their Developer Program for the PlayStation Suite SDK.

To quote: Thank you very much for your interest in the Developer Program for PlayStation Suite (PS Suite). The Developer Program for PS Suite will provide content developers PlayStation Suite SDK (PS Suite SDK), a set of development tools and software libraries.

We will release the open beta version of PS Suite SDK to content developers in April 2012 and the official version later this year. Contents developed with the official version of PS Suite SDK will be distributed through PlayStation Store and can be enjoyed on PlayStation Certified devices, as well as PlayStation Vita.

Video: PlayStation Home Adds Developer Tools in Version 1.5

175w ago - PlayStation Home Community Manager Locust_Star has announced today that PlayStation Home is adding a suite of new Developer Tools and Tech to the version 1.5 update.

To quote: Today, at the [Register or Login to view links] in San Francisco, we lifted the veil on PlayStation Home's version 1.5, which will be coming to your PS3s in early spring.

The update will introduce a suite of new technology with tools that will enhance your experience with real-time multiplayer, improved physics, as well as more realistic graphics and animations. PlayStation Home v1.5 was developed with one singular goal in mind: high-quality games.

Developers will utilize the improved network mechanics to bolster the multiplayer experience with the fastest action available. With the revamped physics engine, developers will carry more control over physics elements, graphics, rendering and animations, which will translate to more realistic and more intricate game experiences.

This update is significantly different from what you, the PlayStation Home community, have come to expect from past core client updates.
