PlayStation Now Beta Game Loading Times Leaked, New Improvements

6d ago - Some PlayStation Now Beta game loading times have been leaked from an anonymous participant and have since been compared to the previous phase of testing with details below.

To quote from DualShockers (linked above): "Back in February a reader that wished to remain anonymous sent us a list of the loading times of all the games that were available in the first phase of the beta of PlayStation Now.

The beta has now moved on to the second phase, with a whole lot of new games available and even some returning ones. The same reader took it upon himself to clock the loading times again using the same internet connection and shared them with us.

Like last time, each timing in the list below is from the launch of the game to the splash screen. We were provided a video as evidence, but we were asked not to publish it to protect the tipster’s identity (and account).

Between parenthesis you can also see the loading times of the returning games in the first phase of the beta, for comparison’s sake.

7w ago - Following up on OpenCMA, today PS Vita homebrew developer Phexe updated his open-source PlayStation Vita Manager dubbed PS Veeter to version 0.8 Beta with the changes outlined below.

Changes:

  • Finally fixed reading the Title and Game ID's

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn PS4 - PlayStation 4 Beta Tips

8w ago - Square Enix Community Project Manager Hergen Thaens posted up some PlayStation 4 Beta tips today for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn on PS4.

To quote: It's now Saturday. The floodgates have opened, and our login servers are starting to grind their gears in earnest - the PS4 beta has begun!

For those of you that have not yet found your way into the realm of Eorzea, this is for you. If you haven't download the Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn PS4 beta, just jump into PlayStation Store now.

First Steps

After you've logged in and updated the game, you can go straight to the character creation process. This is really straightforward - choose whatever suits you best! From hulking Roegadyn to tiny Lalafell, all is available to you.

But an important note: if you want to play with friends, you'll want to make sure that you choose classes that start in the same city! It's a long trip from city to city, until you do the quest to access a new travel method at level 15.

While you work yourself through the introduction, you'll be in an instance (a sealed-off area in the game) that only you are in. That's normal - as soon as you've finished the first few quests, you'll find yourself among tons of other players.

Sony PlayStation Now Private Beta Invites Rolling Out, Vouchers Soon

12w ago - Following up on Sony's previous update, today they are rolling out PlayStation Now private Beta invites according to tokyostomp with vouchers to be going out in coming days.

To quote: Invites for the PlayStation Now private beta are being sent out to select PlayStation Network users.

The e-mail promises users who accept the beta license agreement will receive a beta voucher and instructions how to redeem it in "the coming days."

PlayStation Now will allow users to stream and play popular PlayStation 3 titles via the cloud.

The service is planned to work across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PS Vita, Sony Bravia televisions, tablets, and even smartphones. It will launch first on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, however. Platforms for the beta were not mentioned.

Everyone here at Bungie is thrilled to help ring in the next generation of gaming, and to celebrate the launch of the PlayStation 4.
