Sony Releases PlayStation Now FAQ, Pricing & More Details Available

50°
7w ago - Following up on their Urban Camouflage DualShock 4 Controller, today Sony also made available a Press Release FAQ containing answers to every question fans may have including pricing and more details below.

To quote: Sony Computer Entertainment just sent in a press release including an extensive FAQ that will probably answer every question you might have about PlayStation Now and its upcoming beta phases.

Interestingly, details on pricing are also provided, and we learn that despite the fact that the open beta will still involve testing, it will require users to pay for the games they want to rent.

Is the open beta service a commercial launch? What exactly is the open beta service?
Yes. By expanding access to all PS4 and PS3 users in the Mainland US and most of Canada, SCE will further evolve the service by receiving feedback from users. Users are able to enjoy PS3 titles on their PS3/PS4 via rental.

Why are you calling it an open beta service, even though it is a commercial launch?
PS Now is a pioneer service, and we will continue to evolve it in order to deliver the best user experience. We will listen to user feedback and...

Sony India Leaks Rumored PlayStation 4 / PS4 250 GB Retail Pricing

650°
62w ago - Today GamingBolt.com (linked above) reports that [Register or Login to view links]'s Web site has apparently leaked the rumored PlayStation 4 / PS4 250 GB SKU retail pricing with details below.

To quote: "Sony India apparently updated (now removed) their Web site to reveal the pricing for the upcoming next generation PlayStation 4 console. It listed the console along with a 250 GB hard disk drive as retailing for 399 Euros.

Of course, a while later, they realized their slip up and proceeded to delete the information. Not before other sites could latch on to the info however (thanks NeoGAF), and report on it.

As it stands, this would validate rumours that the PlayStation 4 would be retailing for $400 to $500 dollars (with 399 Euros roughly translating into $513). While we doubt that the price in the United States would be that much, we'd be surprised if Sony priced the console lower than $400.

Of course, this hasn't been officially announced by Sony worldwide - and they would at least use a platform like E3 2013 to announce the price of the device. So remain skeptical. It could very well have been a complete slip-up or just something completely wrong that couldn't be removed quick enough."

"I think people are willing to pay if they see the value there," he said. "The heat for the true gamer is on the console."

He said that games on mobile devices are "additive experiences" and that gamers won't "migrate down the food chain" for their primary gaming experience."
