303w ago - Just a heads up for the few of you that still play Konami's laggy mess that is PES 2008 online, an "emergency maintenance" has been scheduled on July the 7th.

There are hopes that the maintenance will finally fix the crippling lag experienced when playing online.

I personally doubt they would try to improve the online performance while they are right in the middle of development for PES 2009, but it would be a pleasant surprise.

Guess we'll know for sure soon enough!

Konami has issued a "no comment" to rumours it has set a November 19 deadline for a PES 2008 patch.

Internet rumours surfaced today suggesting that the Japanese publisher was expecting to make a patch that would resolve the online lag issues available in just a week.

Comments purporting to come from a Konami spokesperson, reported by pesforum.co.uk, said: "We hope to have the patch released within two weeks at the latest, and have set a deadline of Monday 19th November to get this to the public, as we are aware there are a lot of gamers out there that are avoiding a massive part of the game because of the online issues."

The quotes continue: "I would say to all PES fans to be patient with us while we rectify the problems, please be assured that we are working very hard to fix these problems. We hope that everyone will soon be enjoying the online aspect of the game which people will love playing with their friends and fellow gamers."

However, when Pro-G contacted Konami for clarification the publisher told us that no official announcement on a PES 2008 patch had been made.

Many gamers have expressed their frustration at the crippling lag experienced when playing console versions of the game. Last...

Pro Evolution Soccer on PS3 locks online play to registered user

337w ago - Something which many of us missed from GameSpot's review on PES 2008 for the PS3 is that the online registration process locks your copy of the game to your Konami account. So therefore, if you ever wish to sell your copy of the game, then the buyer will have to have your registration details in order to go online.

To quote: It's also worth noting the online registration process, which locks your copy of the game to your Konami account for online play. This means that if you ever want to sell your copy of the game, the next person will be unable to play online unless he or she has your registration details.
