To quote: After a successful showing of Hoard's multiplayer modes at PAX, developer Big Sandwich Games wanted to share two new videos today showing off a full match in both the cooperative and competitive models.

Watch them in HD, if possible, so you can get a good look at the details that make up Hoard.

So far, so good. But playing Hoard reveals subtleties that are easy to miss at a glance. The surrounding kingdom for instance, is teeming with details: tiny wagons carrying grain from the mill to town, carriages shuttling princesses from building to building, and stealthy thieves scrambling around your treasure pile.





What's more, the surrounding kingdom continually evolves around you, with defensive structures such as Wizard Towers that erect in response to your destruction. In fact, it pays to allow the kingdom to grow and thrive before swooping in to collect your ill-gotten gains.

To quote: For those of you paying attention, you've probably heard that LittleBigPlanet 2 beta codes are being distributed.

Here's the skinny: Yes, beta codes are going out. But globally, we're taking steps to best test our server environment, so we're distributing beta codes in phases.

The first phase of testing started earlier this week with our European LBP community. In a few weeks, we'll be growing the participant base with US and other countries. More news to come...

Take Two Interactive Software pulled off one of the video game world's biggest surprises Friday, announcing not only that the over-a-decade-in-development first person shooter was nearly finished, but backing that claim up by giving the 150,000 people attending the Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle the chance to play the game.

The rest of the world will get its chance in 2011 - on the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
