141w ago - Insomniac Games Senior Community Manager James Stevenson has posted up a video today detailing both the passive and active abilities in Resistance 3 Multiplayer for the PS3 entertainment system.

To quote: Hopefully you caught the news yesterday that Resistance 3 has gone gold! We also debuted our new story-centric campaign trailer.

You may also know that the Resistance 3 Multiplayer Beta early access has begun for owners of specially marked copies of SOCOM 4. We're still very much in beta mode, with regards to fixes (especially for matchmaking to address the freezes and disconnects), so please keep reporting what you see.

We hope to have a patch soon that will address many of these issues, but in the meantime, thanks for bearing with us.

In the spirit of the multiplayer beta, our new behind-the-scenes development diary discusses our inspirations in developing Resistance 3's multiplayer philosophy, from play modes and weapons to special abilities. Hopefully you've caught our previous entries in the dev diary series, but if not, you can catch...

BFG is Preparing a Passive 9800 GT PC Video Card

270w ago - Here is an interesting listing of BFG 9800 GT card... It would be quite normal if the card isn't passively cooled. As far as we know, this is the only card from BFG that has a passive heatsink, at least in last few graphics card generations.

The new card is simply dubbed BFG Geforce 9800GT 512MB GDDR3 and it works at reference 600MHz for the core, has 112 stream processors with a shader clock set at 1,500MHz.

As you could tell from the name of this card, it has 512MB of GDDR3 memory which is clocked at 1,800MHz.

While the memory isn't cooled, the GPU has a small block that is connected to a large heatsink located on the back of the card via four heatpipes.

The rest of the card is pretty much plain as it uses green PCB based on Nvidia's reference design. The card isn't listed at BFG's site, but we guess it would be launched soon.

So if you are shopping for a passive cooled 9800 GT card, you can find BFG's 9800 GT listed at Newegg for US $159.99. or here for US $158.98.
