4d ago - Following up on his previous update, today Sony PlayStation 4 hacker SKFU shared an update on PS4 hacking discussing the state of things Part II featuring Environment Analysis and more below.

To quote: Sadly there's no blueprint of the PS4's filesystem as far as I know, so how would we know where we want to go?

We need to collect as many information about the filesystem and it's environment as possible to even be able to determine our possible research targets and vulnerabilities.

For any PlayStation platform there are 3 good and legit ways to go for:

Way 1: Open Source Software & Open Documentation

Any Open Source Software used on the PlayStation4 is listed at [Register or Login to view links].
A quick look through them reveals that many licenses force SONY to distribute copies of the used software which for the PS4 are:

55w ago - Square-Enix Associate Director of Product Marketing Amritz Lay posted up a behind-the-scenes video today showcasing Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII (Part 1) below.

To quote: In 25 years, [Register or Login to view links] and the Final Fantasy development team have never had a behind-the-scenes look at how the franchise is created. Until now.

We're excited to unveil a brand new series titled "Inside the Square," which takes an in-depth look at one of the greatest RPG franchises around.

Earlier this year, we ventured out to Tokyo with an Emmy award winning camera crew to spend time with Yoshinori Kitase, Motomu Toriyama, and the entire Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII development team.

We quickly realized that each member of this incredibly talented group has a lot to say. Furthermore, the Final Fantasy franchise has such a rich history and so many moving parts, we couldn't properly showcase how these games are made in one video – so you get to witness the first of a three part series.

Our goal with this series is to show everyone a different side of the development staff, and what it's like to work at one of the most prolific video game companies in the world - Square Enix.

We also wanted to give everyone...

55w ago - Following up on Part 1, today Sony Worldwide Studios Art Director Gavin Moore returns with the second installment introducing the boss battles of Puppeteer on PS3 below.

To quote: Hello everyone! I just got back from Germany where I had the amazing opportunity to discuss Puppeteer with so many people while at Gamescom. And, since Puppeteer is on the brain, I figured why not showcase the rest of the bosses in the game to you all.

So, take a look at the final six Generals as well as some small details about the Moon Bear King. Puppeteer is almost out and I can't wait for everyone to lose their head!

Appearance: Not a typical, solidly built Western dragon, but a Chinese-style flying, serpentine beast, with gemstones in his hands.

Personality: Brought up on the streets of the city of the Moon, Dragon is a wise guy. He is always saying "forget about it", although no one ever does and Dragon makes sure they don't.

Relationships: Dragon obeys the MBK like a "Made Man" to a "Don." Though Kutaro does not realize it, it was Dragon who snatched his soul from Earth and brought to the Moon.

General Tiger

Appearance: A gigantic tiger with a Moonstone shard for his left canine. His tail ends with a spiked iron ball, like a mace.

Personality: A true paper tiger, kowtowing to the tough, and browbeating the weak. Reflecting his personality, General Tiger has a slightly lewd turn of phrase. Earlier in his life, he was a complete coward.

Relationships: Tiger is overawed and obsequious to the Moon Bear King to an unnecessary degree. He treats the Witch, Ying Yang, the puppets, and the grubs with...
