Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark Out Today on PS4 and PS3

50°
5w ago - Edge of Reality developer Greg John announced that Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark is out today on PS4 and PS3 platforms with details below.

To quote: The day has come! Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark launches today on PS4 and PS3, and the Autobots and Decepticons bring their furious war to Earth. In honor of that, we're bringing you a quick list of reasons you should grab a copy of this fast-paced, intense third-person action game - some of which we're revealing for the very first time.

1. New Threats

We've tried to keep a lid on the story of Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark as much as possible, but with the game available today, we're excited to talk about some of the ways in which this is more than just an Optimus Prime vs. Megatron story.

As we've said, we're bridging past and present this time around, linking the dark days of the war for Cybertron, as depicted in our previous Transformers titles, with the live-action films of Paramount Pictures and Hasbro, which told the saga on Earth.

If you've seen the Transformers films, you know there's recently been an opening for a leadership position among the Decepticons. A new villain will emerge in the game and in the upcoming film

Transformers: Age of Extinction. He's a mysterious...

Video: Bridging Generations in Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark

50°
8w ago - Activision Lead Producer Andy Owen is bridging generations in Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark on both PS4 and PS3 consoles with a fresh video trailer below!

To quote: 2014 marks thirty years since giant, sentient robots from outer space brought their ancient war to our world and changed the way we look at the common, everyday tractor trailer.

When Hasbro asked us to play a role in ushering in the Transformers franchise's fourth decade with a new video game, we knew paying respect to that tradition - that shared history - had to be central to the experience we delivered.

That mission statement became Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark, a third-person action adventure game that crosses the cosmos, intersecting with Generation One, Paramount Pictures' live-action films, and Activision's Cybertron titles to bridge these storied worlds for the very first time.

The hunt for the illusive and catastrophic Dark Spark - the calamitous counterpart to the Matrix of Leadership, capable of bending the universe to the user's will - is one which will launch players through the fabric of time and space.

The vulnerable human communities of Earth in the present and the war-torn, industrial labyrinths of Cybertron's shattered past will each play prominently throughout the...

Video: Sparkle 2 is Coming to PS4 and PS Vita on May 20th, 2014

11w ago - 10tons Ltd PR Coordinator Jaakko Maaniemi announced today alongside a video trailer that Sparkle 2 is coming to PS4 and PS Vita on May 20th, 2014.

To quote: Hello again! I'm back today to announce 10tons is about to bring another action puzzle game, Sparkle 2, to PS4 and PS Vita. Sparkle 2 will launch on both platforms on May 20th, with cross buy support and a free trial. It's priced at $7.99.

Sparkle 2 is a superbly polished match-three puzzle game set in a mysterious world of magic and wonder. The game features smooth gameplay, plenty of power-ups with big special effects, beautiful graphics, and a cinematic soundtrack.

We're particularly proud of how well the basic gameplay translated to gamepad controls. Marble shooters play great with mouse controls or a touch screen, and we had an idea it'd work with an analog stick, too. We just didn't expect it to be quite as good as Sparkle 2 turned out.

An even bigger unknown, and an even more pleasant surprise, was how fun the game is to play with the DualShock 4 touch pad. We're using it basically like a mouse, with an on-screen pointer and all, and it works really nicely. On PS Vita we of course use the touch screen, and it's just awesome.

10tons Ltd Announces Sparkle on PlayStation Vita is Out Today

50°
32w ago - Today 10tons Ltd PR Coordinator Jaakko Maaniemi announced that Sparkle on PlayStation Vita is officially released!

To quote: Hello, readers! Greetings from the magical winter wonderland* of Finland.

I'm Jaakko from multiplatform game developer [Register or Login to view links]. Even though we've been around for ten years now, we're genuinely excited to make our PS Vita debut this week.

The game we've chosen to be the spearhead of our entry to PS Vita is Sparkle. It's a marble shooter puzzle game, and probably the most popular game we've ever made.

The game is actually out on PS Vita in Europe already, and we've received a whole lot of positive reviews and feedback on it. Many noted that this particular subgenre of match-three is extremely underrepresented on PS Vita. Not anymore!

What sets Sparkle apart from many marble shooters are the big and brash power-ups, considerable level of challenge, and the slightly dark, mysterious theme. This type of game fits mobile gaming really well, and PS Vita is the ultimate device to play it on. Playing Sparkle with the touchscreen is fast and accurate, but if you prefer thumbstick controls, they're there as well.

We're also really happy it's possible to offer free trials of games on PS Vita. We realize...
