50°
212w ago - VidZone's Head of Production Ben Creasey is here with this weeks VidZone PS3 updates today, as follows:

A couple of things to shout about this week. First of all, our friends at the [Register or Login to view links] have been busy picking through our huge catalogue to pick their favourite videos for their very own playlist!

Which is a very a mixed bag of very great videos... which is nice. Also one of our very special staff Joel "Junior" Stamp who creates most of the amazing images and skins for the service is unfortunately leaving us to go back to university (slacker!) so for a leaving present we thought we would let him pick a playlist for you, all you Emo heads are in for a treat!

FEATURED CHANNELS

Hot New Videos

Music videos that are quite frankly too hot to handle and too new to... chew... stew... accrue. Don't you worry, after a small brainstorming session; I have loads more where that came from. Featuring The Shapeshifters, You Me At Six, Papa Roach, Marit Larsen, Loick Essien, Scissor Sisters and Mcfly. Enjoy

I know I don't have to introduce this Hip-Hop powerhouse to you, so all I'm gonna...

x3JailBreak Shipping Tomorrow, Online Verification for Updates

700°
212w ago - A few days back we saw the x3JailBreak PS JailBreak clone in action, and today the PS3 modchip's official site (linked above) is updated stating that shipping will begin tomorrow and there will be an online verification for updates.

They've listed a number of new features, including account based updates (after verification, so clones don't get access to updates),
future expansion promise.

Realizing the existence of much cheaper homebrew hardware options, they're saying their hardwre is competitively priced to those (teensy++ etc).

Here's their update with the list of features, to quote:

•X3JailBreak will start shipping the 100 samples, starting 2moro(today ;p) (sep 3rd to sep 6th).
•Future updates will need a per user-copy basis (to make clones fail to get the updates ;p, which might get circumvented by open source hack methods anyway)
•X3jailbreak.com will be shipping our samples out to 100 selected requests starting Sept 3rd-Sept 6th and x3jailbreak are now taking pre-orders which will start shipping by the end of next week (Sept 10th-13th). Feel free to submit your pre-orders today.
•Our goal at x3jailbreak was to provide you as customers...

European PlayStation Store Updates for September 1, 2010

100°
212w ago - SCEE's Ross McGrath of the PlayStation Store Team is here with this weeks European PSN update today, as follows:

Alien Breed: Impact hits the EU PSN this week. An HD remake of the awesome Amiga classic, 'Alien Breed' (what do you mean, "What's an Amiga?") you and a friend can take on hordes of nasty space critters locally or online, in an effort to get from point A to point B for some reason or another.

Still, it's the journey that matters, not the destination, which is especially true when you have LASERS on the journey and are wading through piles of fresh alien corpses. Make sure you grab the free trial and try it for yourselves.

In other news, Sam and Max conclude their journey into the Devil's Playhouse this week - you can grab the final episode when we update, or if you're a Plus subscriber, grab yourself the whole Season.

The previously Plus-only demo of Ubisoft's R.U.S.E. hits for the rest of you today - command your army and deceive the enemy before nuking them into the stone age. If real-time strategy isn't your cup of tea, SEGA's Vanquish is on display for you to wrap your controllers around.

What better way to spend your time than blasting malevolent robots into a bajillion pieces from the comfort of an incredibly powerful...
