First ever Condemned 2: Bloodshot gameplay footage!

50°
365w ago - It's easy to draw Manhunt and Condemned comparisons -- disturbingly-violent scenes, sneaking around in the dark, environment kills -- but after spending time with both games recently, we think we've found the line that separates the two.

In Manhunt 2, when you see characters running around in skull and pig masks, it's kinky. In Condemned 2, it's Halloween. Video below:

We stopped by Sega's offices earlier this week to get a look at Condemned 2's third mission, which just so happens to take place during Halloween. And sure enough, in the mission players come across masked enemies fighting each other on train tracks in what Sega calls a "riot." We're not sure if that's the best word to use, since the screen isn't exactly filled with enemies, but it's an impressive scene that comes as close as we've seen in a game to a real fist fight.

When you come across these enemies attacking each other, they'll turn and start to pursue you, but at all times they remain aware of everyone in the room. So if an enemy takes a wide swing at you and there happens to be another enemy within breathing room of his elbow, that guy will get taken out as well. With the sound effects and enemy animations where they are at this point in development, even a simple scene like...

Disney Helping Promote PS3 and Blu-ray

50°
365w ago - In the latest Disney commercials for newly released Disney Blu-ray movies and games Disney is giving the PS3 some added promotion stating that the product "Plays on Blu-ray players and PlayStation 3."

This is great news for Sony and it appears that Disney and Sony have some sort of partnership which has made this type of advertisement a reality.

Apparetly Disney wants to push the Blu-ray format and has chosen it as their format of choice to release all of their key titles on such as the newly released Meet the Robinsons which we reviewed here right on PCN earlier in the week

It is very smart for Disney to take this approach because if they push the PS3 and it sells more units, that will mean that more people will have Blu-ray players and likely buy more copies of their films in the future

PS3 Firmware 2.0 Detailed, Hits Next Week

50°
365w ago - An informed UK reader sends word of the Playstation 3's 2.0 firmware release, which he says is supposed to hit on Oct. 30. While the source appears to be genuine, I am a little doubtful of the timing since 1.94 seems to be just hitting now with copies of Ratchet and Clank, so take this, as you should all rumors, with a grain of salt.

Chief among the updates is the inclusion of cross media bar customization, a separate Playstation Network category, music and photo playlists and the ability to turn your PS3 on and off with PSP Remote Play. Hit the jump for the full break down of what we're told will be coming in this rather robust update.
