329w ago - Zx-81 has released an update to PSPMSX, a MSX and MSX2 series emulator for PSP. Now at version 1.3.0, PSPMSX features support for loading disk images compressed in the space saving GZip format.

In addition to the usual bug fixes, other changes include support for thumbnail images to allow easy recognition of game titles.

Download: PSPMSX v1.3.0 for CFW 3.X / PSPMSX v1.3.0 for FW 1.5

What's new in version 1.3.0:

* Add gzipped disk file support to reduce disk file size from 700k to 50k!
(you may gzip original dsk file using 7-zip available at www.7-zip.org)
* Add MSX EBOOT music (thanks to Konami )
* A thumbnail image is now displayed in the file requester
while selecting any file with the same name of a previously
saved game (ROM, disk, keyboard, settings).
It might be very helpful to recognize that game later if you
have thousand different games in your disk and ROM folders!
* In the emulator menu you can go directly to keyboard and settings
menus using the L-Trigger key.
* Fix IR keyboard issue with firmware >= 3.80 for FAT PSP
* Fix random black screen...

The list of titles affected by the update went unnamed, but Lempel did note that it has nothing to due with the lock-up issues a number of PS3 owners are experiencing with Grand Theft Auto IV.

SDLMAME v0.125 Emulator for Wii out now!

50°
332w ago - A Wii port of SDLMAME was publically released last night. To quote from the page linked above: Here I bring another distribution of wii-linux to play in our Wii, only if you have installed the Twilight Hack.

This time I bring you SDLMAME 0.125 (it's still hot =D) ported to the wii, which will let us play those old games from the years 80-90. I don't recommend using it with the Homebrew Channel, since there are hanging problems with wii-linux.

Furthermore, if you want to use this MAME version, you will have to be patient, since the loading times are big enough compared to PC. Even so, once you have gone through the phase of ROM loading, you can enjoy the games at a decent speed.

XCM X-Box 360 Core Cooler Version 2 now available!

50°
332w ago - The folks over at www.XCM.cc let us know about two new products today. The first we'll cover in this article, which is their new XCM X-Box 360 Core Cooler Version 2!

XCM 360 Core Cooler Version 2 can be used on ALL X-Box 360 consoles, including the latest with built-in heat sinks.

The XCM X-Box 360 Core Cooler Version 2 also can be used with their XCM High Speed Air Cooler (more efficient and powerful) or independently, unlike other brands of external fans.

External X-Box 360 fans can only cool the temperature of the X-Box 360's outer surface, but do not cool the temperature of the CPU/GPU... therefore, making them useless to combat CPU/GPU overheating.

The XCM 360 Core Cooler Version 2 directly cools down the temperature from the core (CPU and GPU) of the 360 console. Pic below, and COOL stuff indeed! :P
