Sony PSN Director Announces PlayStation Plus Pricing and Dates

227w ago - Yesterday at E3 2010 PlayStation Plus was officially announced, and today Sony's PlayStation Network Sr. Director Susan Panico has shared PlayStation Plus pricing and availability dates on the upcoming PSN service.

To quote: If you have been paying attention to all of the news coming out of E3, you probably heard that we introduced a new subscription service called PlayStation Plus, which will be available on June 29.

PlayStation Plus is a service that lives on top of the current PlayStation Network. So, while users will continue to have free access to PlayStation Network's unmatched and ever-growing suite of new and exclusive content, services, and community focused tools - just as they do today - PlayStation Plus subscribers will gain access to an exclusive set of features and content designed specifically for gamers.

Sony Announces Surround Sound System for PlayStation 3

227w ago - As part of E3 2010, Sony has officially announced a Surround Sound System for the PlayStation 3 entertainment system which will be available in Japan on September 30, 2010.

The sound bar utilizes Sony's S-Force PRO Front Surround Sound to create rich, deep sounds without the expense of a full surround sound system.

Sony has revealed the device will cost $199, and the device includes two audio inputs: analogue and optical.

To quote: "Users will be able to enjoy immersive audio on the PlayStation 3 system, including upcoming games supporting PlayStation Move motion controllers, Blu-ray movies, as well as stereoscopic 3D content by simply placing the speaker in front of the television and connecting it to the PS3 system with the optical digital cable.

The Surround Sound System comes with two audio inputs ' an optical audio input for connecting high-end entertainment systems including PS3, and an analog audio input for connecting portable devices like the PSP (PlayStation Portable) system to enjoy listening to music in the living room.

The form factor of the system features a sleek and casual design that matches perfectly with the PS3 system, and delivers dynamic sound without the physical space required by a traditional home theater system."
 

Sony Announces New Promotions for PSP and PSPgo This June!

To quote: Today is an exciting day for both the PSP-3000 and PSPgo systems. Starting today, June 1, we're now offering some new initiatives that offer HUGE value for you across the PSP platform.

Sony Announces MAG PS3 Patch v1.06 is Coming in June

230w ago - Update: Jeremy Dunham has now [Register or Login to view links] that the MAG PS3 Patch v1.06 will arrive on June 8, 2010 and will automatically download to your PlayStation 3 the moment you sign into the game.

Sony's European Producer Elliott "Shijima" Martin has announced today that the MAG PS3 Patch version 1.06 will be coming in June, 2010.

To quote: Though we're still several weeks away from its release, we thought it prudent to give everyone a head's up on what we're working towards for our next MAG patch - and it's a big one!

Slated for sometime next month, MAG v1.06 will add a number of requested new features to the game that should please fans regardless of their play style.

Not only have we made it much harder to accidentally kill fellow teammates, for example, we've also expanded the Medical Kit's functionality to give users total control over who they heal (allies or themselves), while updating the experience system that surrounds it.

Other new goodies include improved vehicle handling and physics, new gun ports for APCs, weapon efficiency adjustments, credit cost changes, and updated medal and ribbon requirements.
