Confirmed: God Of War 3 Hits March 2010 for PlayStation 3

250°
294w ago - Gamestop sources have unveiled an e-mail sent to them by Sony that state March 2010 is the current (estimated) release date for God Of War 3 for the PS3.

This may come to many as a disappointment, but not for me. I see this as extra time for Sony to polish up a great title that is already looking outstanding from the few trailers out so far.

I see this a better opportunity for us gamers to get the full experience from a game; there already is a bunch of great Sony titles coming out in 09 and not to mention the multiplatform titles as well.

I like buying all hot titles on launch day even if I haven't beat the previous game played, its just in my nature. I will give the newer games a test run, but quickly return to my previous game to finish it. I don't like doing it like that, so its good to see space between all these titles to be released in 09.

On a side note, Killzone 2 sets off the PS3 for 2009, just as GoW 3 will set it off in 2010. Killzone 2 has jumped from sales rank of 40th to 7th to 1st on overal video game sales which according to amazon represents a 1900% increase.

The Increase percentage from 2nd to 1st shows at as 600% increase. It has even bested the likes of Wii Fit, yesterday it was in second place, and I wouldn't be surprised if it took the...

PS3 Exclusive Killzone 2 Hits #2 on Amazon's Pre-order List

100°
295w ago - Killzone 2 has long been the center of a lot of attention by hardcore PS3 fans for it's ultra-realistic graphics and deep multi-player gameplay.

However, the title's popularity even among the masses is becoming increasingly more obvious. Amazon just announced earlier today that Killzone 2 was the number one most pre-ordered PS3 game and the #2 most pre-ordered video game total.

This puts it above other various blockbuster releases due out soon, including Street Fighter IV(PS3/360 - #8), Halo Wars(360 - #7), and even Capcom's highly anticipated Resident Evil 5(PS3/360 - #4).

Killzone 2 is surpassed only by Mario Power Tennis, which is due out for the Wii in March.

Killzone 2 is a first person shooter and sequel to the 2004 title of the same name. Developed by Guerilla Games exclusively for the PS3, Killzone 2 will hit shelves late in February, on the 27th.

Stay tuned for more info on the title as the release draws near.

50°
295w ago - RedOctane/Activision Producer Chuck Park announced some good news for Guitar Hero World Tour players as follows today:

This coming Tuesday, January 27 (yes, you read that correctly, Tuesday), we're all VERY proud to welcome Bruce Springsteen to the Guitar Hero World Tour family, as you'll be able to download the Bruce Springsteen Track Pack for FREE from the PlayStation Store.

The Track Pack has two great songs, the classic anthem "Born to Run" (if you don't know, go ask Dad about it and watch him reminisce about his younger days as he begins to sing at the top of his lungs) and Bruce's new single "My Lucky Day". We're giving this to you on a Tuesday, as it coincides with the release of Bruce's new album "Working On A Dream".

Bruce has been pretty busy lately, as he won a Golden Globe, performed at the Inaugural Celebration, is releasing a new album AND will perform at halftime of the Big Game in Tampa on February 1. So do yourself a favor and add these songs to your ever-growing Guitar Hero World Tour set lists! We hope you enjoy playing these songs as much as we enjoyed delivering them to you.

One last note about the Track Pack. It's FREE for a limited time only. You have from Tuesday, January 27 - Wednesday, February 4 to download it for...

iPhone Developer Quits Day Job After 'iShoot' Hits Number One

50°
295w ago - Developer Ethan Nicholas at Sun Microsystems has handed in his two weeks notice after finding success with an iPhone game.

His game iShoot Lite went live on January 3, 2009 and less than ten days later, it was the top app on the iTunes App Store with a massive 16,792 downloads in one day!

To quote: "iShoot Lite" went live on January 3, 2009. Less than ten days later on January 11, the original iShoot rocketed out of obscurity as the number one Top Paid App in the iTunes App Store with 16,972 downloads in one day.

It virtually blasted the reigning number one iFart app off its perch overnight. iShoot simultaneously grabbed the Top Free App number one spot as well.

For an app to reach number one and remain there, some 10,000 plus downloads per day are required. That's roughly $21,000 a day for this $2.99 app after Apple takes its 30-percent stake.

Nicholas attributes iShoot's meteoric rise to the release of his 'Lite' version, giving millions a free chance to experience the thrill of launching tank artillery. It's important to note that a $2.99 price point was no barrier to the ultimate success of iShoot.

"I'm still in shock," Nicholas said, "I've given my two week notice at Sun Microsystems. I'm gonna do this full time now."
