190w ago - Today Gamersmint shared some amazing new Alan Wake screenshots, which confirms the fact that this is going to be one of the finest titles to be releasing on Microsoft's XBox 360 this year!
The story will play out in an episodic format, with a television show-style presentation. Remedy has confirmed that Alan Wake is only the first season of a bigger story, opening the door for future sequels.
Light plays a significant role in gameplay and strategy. The enemies, called "the Taken" in the game, are sensitive to light, encouraging the player to take advantage of environmental light sources and placing significant emphasis on the flashlight as a primary weapon.
Players also have the ability to set traps that illuminate when triggered, either damaging or temporarily immobilizing an enemy. They are then destroyed and turned into batteries.
Finally, Alan Wake is slated for release on Microsoft's XBox 360 console on May 14, 2010 in Europe and on May 18, 2010 in North America.
191w ago - Somebody at Microsoft appears to have flicked a switch a little early, with an advertisement appearing on the Xbox 360 dashboard tonight for Gears of War 3.
There's the trademark Gears of War logo, and a tagline that reads "The epic story concludes April 2011".
To quote: The ad appears to have jumped the proverbial gun, with the official reveal of the game not expected to have taken place until an appearance from Epic's Cliff Bleszinski on the Jimmy Fallon show on Monday night.
He of course was supposed to have been on the show, well, last night, but his appearance was pulled at the last minute. Guess somebody forgot to pass that onto the Xbox 360's ad team!
Despite the lack of an official reveal, it's already been rumoured that the third game in the Xbox 360 shooter series will feature franchise firsts like like underwater combat and mech suits.
After a long development and testing process we give you the first official release of the iXtreme LT.

195w ago - Kotaku is reporting on what appears to be a rumored XBox 360 slim model featuring a Valhalla chipset today.
Speculation is currently underway as to whether the source of the picture is a legitimate Chinese leak ala PS3 Slim, or a hoax.
To quote: "These pictures apparently show the guts of a new model of the Xbox 360. The important bits? The fact that for the first time the console combines the CPU and the GPU in a single chip. Oh, and it's small.
The pic shows the board in question, with the chip part of a rumoured redesign for the Xbox 360 console, testing of which has recently been completed in China.
This isn't simply a new board for the existing hardware, either; it's reportedly a total redesign of the console. Think the PS3 Slim, only... for an Xbox 360.
Now, considering the source, there's every reason to be sceptical of the images, and the info. Then again, with Natal due later this year, rebooting the 360 itself to go along with it would make a lot of sense, especially if a reduction in size could come with a reduction in cost."
From the ReadMe File: This is a devkit version of the retail xbox360 backwards compatibility that was released November 2007.
To install this, copy the Compatibilty folder to your devkits Y drive. You may want to remove any existing files, although this should overwrite all files.
This version has been hacked to play unsupported games, however this doesn't mean they will work. This release includes a hacked version of the official frontend, however you may want to try my replacement frontend which allows you to set emulation options for each game.
At the moment there are 556 officially supported games, (ie games that should work 100% or close to it). A list of these games is available here:
