Dollar Dash: A Four-Player Free-for-All Coming to PS3 This Winter

50°
92w ago - Candygun Art Director Andreas Hackel has announced today that a four-player free-for-all is coming to PS3 this Winter.

Below is the scoop, to quote: Late last year, we were gathering ideas and prototypes in preparation of creating our next game. There was one idea we really liked: A fast-paced multiplayer sneaking game about a group of safe-breakers that sneak past cameras, laser barriers, and guards to pull off the ultimate heist.

In our earliest prototype, the goal of the four players was to pick locks and break walls in order to reach the vault and grab all the money inside before one of the other players could.

There was one element in this early prototype that was really fun: You could set up bear traps that would snare other players, slowing them down and causing the guards to catch them. Around the same time, we were also playing a lot of Bomberman in the office. And its brand of pick-up-and-play fun and multiplayer battles was something we wanted in our game, too.

So we decided to re-think the game from scratch, stripping out complicated concepts like guards and surveillance cameras and focusing on one basic idea: thieves stealing money and attacking other players. Enter Dollar Dash!

We knew we wanted an animated look for Dollar Dash, with inspirations...

Corpse Party: Book of Shadows on PSP This Winter, Sale Tomorrow

100°
95w ago - XSeed Localization Specialist Tom Lipschultz has announced today that Corpse Party: Book of Shadows is coming this Winter alongside a sale on PSN tomorrow.

To quote: Corpse Party on PSP. What more can you say about it? In my previous PlayStation.Blog entries, I've likened it to horror classics such as Clock Tower and Fatal Frame.

I've talked about how it's one of the creepiest, most effective horror games I've ever played, and how its unique visuals, its 3D binaural audio and its storytelling methods help give it an uncomfortable, unforgettable atmosphere. And you, fair players... you agreed with me.

You played it late at night with headphones on, just as I suggested, and it kept you awake. It haunted your nightmares and made you jump every time your house creaked or your neighbor's kids smacked the wall... until you realized, wait a minute, I don't have any neighbors!

And then you were never heard from again...Presumably because you were too busy getting every wrong end in the game, of course. It's hard to resist the charm of those horrible, horrible deaths, after all! Call it morbid curiosity if you will, but we all know you, like Morishige, get a certain sadistic thrill out of seeing (or, more often, hearing) these characters you've come to know and love get killed,...
