PS3 MegaBox Linux Media Center Updated to Version 2.1 Final

500°
252w ago - It's been quite some time since we had an update on PS3 MegaBox (or similar frontends) primarily because Sony removed the OtherOS and Linux options from the PS3 Slim.

However, yesterday DemonHades (linked above) experimented with installing the latest PS3 MegaBox Linux Media Center via USB pendrive.

That being said, those who wish to revisit PS3 MegaBox can grab the recently released version 2.1 Final (1.3GB in size) from Spanish site [Register or Login to view links] along with some compatibility and multilanguage fixes.

For those curious, PS3 MegaBox v2.1 has the following [Register or Login to view links], roughly translated:

• It turns your PlayStation 3 into a complete system multimedia.
• It takes advantage of to the maximum the possibilities your video console.
• It transforms the television into your main maintenance center. It enjoys like in your PC, but from the comfort of your hall.
• It accedes to Internet, electronic mail, films and videos in network, series, music... unloading thousands of gratuitous games.

Ubisoft: No Plans for PS3 Version of Splinter Cell: Conviction

400°
274w ago - Speaking on the company's [Register or Login to view links], developer Ubisoft stated, "Splinter Cell Conviction is a true Microsoft exclusive title and there are no plans to have Splinter Cell Conviction on other platforms."

The firm elaborated on the decision to remain exclusive to 360, describing the Splinter Cell franchise as being 'historically linked' with Microsoft consoles beginning with the original title in 2002.

To quote: "There are several reasons behind this choice. First of all, Splinter Cell games are historically linked with Microsoft platforms.

The first Splinter Cell on the original Xbox was one of the first games to fully exploit the console's technical possibilities," added the company.

"At that time, Microsoft really believed in the game potential and provided strong support to promote it. So, there is a "link of heart" between the franchise and the platform. Some games are like this (think of Final Fantasy for instance)."

"The second reason behind this choice is purely linked to production. Having a single target platform means that we can optimize the game even further, because we only have one type of - console - hardware to support."

Noby Noby Boy Version 1.1 is Now Available on PSN

200°
278w ago - Today Keita Takahashi of Namco Bandai Games has announced that Noby Noby Boy v1.1 is available via PlayStation Network.

To quote: Finally, the updated 1.1 version is ready (available now on PSN). Honestly, debugging it was hard for multiplayer as it was a hotbed for bugs.

So, if you run into a bug or two, please laugh that off. Since there are more silly updates aside from multiplay, I hope everyone has fun with the game as a whole. By looking at the number of WEBWEBBOY, however, a lot of people don't seem to have noticed the updates. They may be playing something else and not know about them. But I do wonder when GIRL will reach Mars.

So now FARTBOY is audible. As it says names of the excreted in Japanese and English in a random manner, it's perfect for 2 to 3-year-olds to study languages.

Wouldn't it be interesting to have it encompass entire languages, like excreting with a certain button held lets it speak a German word, etc? This feature may not mean much, but I think it'll be fun to perfect this spec.

Also, there is a hidden function in the game called SYNCHROBOY that people might not know about; it's not even in the manual.

I expected that people would notice by now, but I feel like...
