Housemarque CEO Details Super Stardust HD 3D Story for PS3

100°
216w ago - Today Housemarque CEO and Co Founder Ilari Kuittinen has detailed his thoughts and concerns about Super Stardust HD 3D Story for Sony's PS3 entertainment system.

To quote: We first heard of Sony's 3D plans when our producer, Phil Gaskell, asked us to think about a stereoscopic 3D version of our PSN hit Super Stardust HD (SSHD) in summer 2009.

Our first reaction was that it sounded interesting, but we were doubtful whether 3D would ever work or be even possible to do for SSHD for a couple of main reasons. The first one was that we were really concerned over whether we would be able to develop a proper 3D version of the game without compromising full 60 frames per second gameplay.

Also, we hadn't personally seen proper 3D images in action and the premier of Avatar was half a year away. So, we got to work and thought about how on earth we are going to be able to render TWICE the amount of stuff than before as now we basically needed to get the refresh rate from 60fps to 120fps to produce stereoscopic pictures.

For the more technologically inclined people reading this blog, here's some insight on what we had to do.

We had been working on our next version of our game engine for over a year and replaced the core engine with a newer one. As the engine is highly...

219w ago - InXile Entertainment Producer David Jaloza has announced that Super Stacker is lined up for PS3 and will be coming tomorrow to PSN for $9.99.

To quote: Remember when you and your classmates stacked brightly colored blocks at school?

Did you love to challenge your friends to make the tallest stack, enjoying the suspense before they all came tumbling down? [Register or Login to view links] reignites your childish enjoyment with [Register or Login to view links] for PSN!

Inspired by the game by [Register or Login to view links], Super Stacker's popularity pretty much demanded that we captured that fun and take it to the next level. This latest PSN exclusive version of Super Stacker is bursting with 2 new game modes, exclusive artwork, over 100 levels, multiplayer and much more!

We're most excited about the introduction of Competitive and Co-Op Multiplayer. You can now sit down with a friend and either work together to solve a puzzle or see who can stack faster and higher.

The two never-before-seen modes include Present Stacker: stacking blocks toward a particular 'goal', and Unstacker: blasting away dynamite blocks! And you've got to admit, every game is better when you get to blow...

New Super Street Fighter IV Release for PS3 Announced!

300°
222w ago - Today Producer Yoshinori Ono has officially announced a new Super Street Fighter IV release for Sony's PS3 entertainment system!

To quote: I've listened to PlayStation users voice their opinions for the past 10 years. They've said, "We're waiting for the next numbered sequel to Street Fighter!"

I have to apologize that it took [Register or Login to view links] almost a decade to make the decision... but, I really appreciate your continuous support, and I'm now armed with weapons and armor to fight as Capcom's voice in this tough global market.

It is as if I'm fighting as King Arthur from [Register or Login to view links]!

The original [Register or Login to view links] was released in February 2009. Before that, it has been about 15 years since the [Register or Login to view links]series, and 10 years since the [Register or Login to view links] series.

I strongly feel that SFIV wouldn't have happened without your support. I'm glad that Street Fighter is now back, and I'd like to say "thank you" to all of you.

And now SFIV is fully renewed and, to reinforce the upgrades, we've added...

Sony and Capcom Host Super Street Fighter IV Event This Friday

200°
224w ago - Today Community Senior Manager Seth Killian has announced news of a Super Street Fighter IV event this Friday hosted by Sony in conjunction with Capcom.

To quote: For those who don't know, we call these things "Fight Clubs" and the concept is pretty simple.

We find an underground location (sometimes [Register or Login to view links], sometimes just an [Register or Login to view links], sometimes a [Register or Login to view links], but you get the idea), and drop a bunch of Street Fighter games in there, then let people throw down in arcade-style, face-to-face combat.

We spice it up with some totally exclusive shirt giveaways, exclusive artwork and giftbags, and maybe... just maybe, some extra epic events.

The party is going down this Friday, April 23rd, from 8pm to midnight, in Los Angeles, CA (in the [Register or Login to view links]).

We'll post the exact address on Thursday, so stay tuned, but here's a little taste...
