Aspiring rock stars can breathe a sigh of relief - SingStar is finally coming to PlayStation Home this Thursday, September 24. And to top it off, we're kicking off the launch with an extra special event.

Those of you who visit the new SingStar space this Thursday will find that the critically-acclaimed UK rapper [Register or Login to view links] has taken over the VIP lounge.

To celebrate the release of his new album Tongue n' Cheek (and his new SongPack available now at the SingStore), we're decorating this super elite space with all things Dizzee Rascal, airing some exclusive Dizzee videos, and dropping a bunch of Dizzee-themed virtual items on you (including a few limited edition rewards for all attendees). See the below video if you want to learn more about the content and features in the new SingStar space.

PS Home: SingStar Rooms and Buzz! Game Launching Support

50°
276w ago - Today PlayStation Home Online Community Specialist Locust_Star has announced that the new SingStar rooms will be launching on September 24th, and that Buzz! game launching support is also on the way.

To quote: As you may or may not know, we announced the upcoming SingStar rooms for PlayStation Home at gamescom in Cologne, Germany a few weeks ago.

For those of you SingStar fiends who have since been blowing up my PM box on the official PlayStation Home forums asking "where are those rooms at, Locust?"

I'm positively thrilled to confirm that this new game space will be launching two weeks from today on Thursday, September 24th. You can peep some exclusive sneak peek pics from this new space below.

The first thing you'll notice when you visit this space on opening day is that dance floor reacts to the shapes you throw and that the music will change according to what style on dance the majority of avatars are partaking in. Note: This is where you thank me for not dropping the polka dance on you last update.

There's also an interactive jukebox in the space where you and your friends can vote for your favorite tracks and the SingStar Music Quiz (which will be accessible in a future update) is there to test the knowledge of the hardest of hardcore music...

SingStar Update: Kasabian, The Hold Steady and More

50°
283w ago - SCEE Content Manager Nina Scherer has announced news of the latest SingStar update today, as follows:

It's time for the [Register or Login to view links] update and without further ado, let me introduce you to this week's brand new tracks.

SingStar must-haves this week include 'Smooth Operator' by Sade, Gloria Estefan's 'Dr. Beat' and Roy Orbison with 'I Drove All Night'. For all fans of the hottest tunes of the moment there's Kasabian's recent single 'Fire' plus some great tracks by Coldplay, The Hold Steady and P!nk.

We've recently had some reports from the community about 'Charmless Man' by Blur being slightly out-of-synch. I'm glad to say that this has been fixed so if you have previously downloaded this track, please delete it from your hard drive and re-download it from the store anytime after Thursday and everything should be 'nanana' again.

Also, for those of you eagerly awaiting the release of SingStar Queen, we're happy to announce that the release date for the standalone disc has been pushed up and SingStar Queen will now be available for purchase on August 4.

SingStar PlayStation Home Space Leaked and Pulled by SCE UK

100°
286w ago - Earlier today SCE UK had a [Register or Login to view links] (now removed) on the upcoming Singstar Home Space.

After it made its way to the social gaming network N4G and several Web sites, it was pulled from their server... likely because it was posted prematurely.

At the [Register or Login to view links] kingofscotland took notice, and this is all that currently remains along with the pics below:

"Dance the Night Away in Playstation Home: It's always Saturday night in The SingStar Rooms - a brand new party space in PlayStation Home.

You can get to The SingStar Rooms from the PlayStation Home World Map; grab your best outfit and head over to where the Home community goes to party."

The Space, which will be themed around SingStar, will feature a music quiz (with prizes for your Home avatar) and, naturally, music.
