Rumor: XBox 360 Slim Model with Valhalla Chipset Uncovered?

650°
213w ago - Kotaku is reporting on what appears to be a rumored XBox 360 slim model featuring a Valhalla chipset today.

Speculation is currently underway as to whether the source of the picture is a legitimate Chinese leak ala PS3 Slim, or a hoax.

To quote: "These pictures apparently show the guts of a new model of the Xbox 360. The important bits? The fact that for the first time the console combines the CPU and the GPU in a single chip. Oh, and it's small.

The pic shows the board in question, with the chip part of a rumoured redesign for the Xbox 360 console, testing of which has recently been completed in China.

This isn't simply a new board for the existing hardware, either; it's reportedly a total redesign of the console. Think the PS3 Slim, only... for an Xbox 360.

Now, considering the source, there's every reason to be sceptical of the images, and the info. Then again, with Natal due later this year, rebooting the 360 itself to go along with it would make a lot of sense, especially if a reduction in size could come with a reduction in cost."

216w ago - Today xorloser has shared a PS3 Hypervisor Dump setup script for IDA (Interactive Disassembler), which automatically sets up function tables, resolves rtoc offsets and finds some common functions in PlayStation 3 Hypervisor Dumps for easier reversing.

Additionally, titanmkd has updated the script with a patch available HERE, and as a result xorloser has now made his more compatible with older versions of IDA and updated it yet again with peek/poke calls labeled.

To quote: "It seems someone took some initiative and made some software themselves to dump the hypervisor once they have the correct hardware and software. So for anyone who has used that and dumped their own hypervisor I present...

Video: CES 2010 Razer 360 and Sixense Controllers with Headset

550°
222w ago - A video is available below showcasing Razer's upcoming XBox 360 and Sixense controllers along with a headset from CES 2010.

To quote: "The XBOX 360 controller, which was prototyped for the show, brought a whole slew of features. Their hyper responsive buttons employ a switch rather than the standard membrane. What does this mean? Its freaking easy to click, and has nice audible feedback.

It has a lit edge, rubberized grip and is a pretty comfortable shape. On the top of the controller are two new shoulder buttons that are programmable via two sliders on the controller back.

These two buttons can mimic the functions of any face button, including analog clicks. Speaking of the analog sticks, each has an independent tension dial to allow you to get the "just right" feel on either stick. Its MSRP is slated at $49.99 and will be available in the near future.

The XBOX 360 headset was a nice piece of work as well. It features a wired base station that doubles as a charger and 5.1 surround support. When the system is powered off, the base station allows audio pass through so there will be no need to switching your receiver around.

For tournament play, the headsets cab ne daisy chained together to provide a private voice chat network. The headset was also a prototype...
