Video: No Man's Sky on PS4: The Ambitions of Hello Games

50°
4w ago - Sony Blog Manager Fred Dutton revealed the ambitions of Hello Games in No Man's Sky on PS4 today complete with a PlayStation 4 video trailer below.

To quote: One of the undisputed highlights of our E3 2014 media briefing was the moment when Hello Games' visibly nervous Sean Murray clambered on stage to show off No Man's Sky, his team's remarkable open-universe, science fiction epic which will debut on PS4.

As you'll hopefully have ascertained in the press coverage since (and in Sean's blog post), there's extraordinary ambition on display here, especially given the size of the Hello team, and it was no surprise that it was arguably the buzz game of the show.

48 hours after his moment under the E3 spotlight, we were lucky enough to sit down with Sean and learn the story behind Hello's journey from humble beginnings in Guildford, UK to the biggest stage in gaming, surviving natural disasters in the process.

Not only that but he also laid bare his mind-boggling vision for what No Man's Sky will be. Trust me, this one is well worth a watch...

Video: The Legend of Korra PS4: PlatinumGames Joins the Avatar

4w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Ryan Clements shared a video today announcing that PlatinumGames joins the Avatar in The Legend of Korra on PS4 below.

To quote: It's no easy task to adapt the critically acclaimed animated series The Legend of Korra into a third-person action game. The beloved show fuses martial arts, varying philosophies and world cultures, and an exquisite story that follows in the footsteps of Avatar: The Last Airbender.

What better studio to take up the challenge than PlatinumGames (Bayonetta, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance)? The team has spent years meticulously crafting combat systems that marry style and substance into a visual maelstrom of fast, addictive action.

And with Platinum's knowledge of martial arts choreography, Korra couldn't be in better hands. Revealed just yesterday, The Legend of Korra is coming to PS4 and PS3 this year. And we got to play it.

The Legend of Korra follows our rough-around-the-edges-but-ever-so-charming hero after the events of Book Two, but before the start of the upcoming Book Three.

For those unfamiliar with the Avatar universe, Korra is the latest incarnation of a long, long line of peacekeepers meant to preserve order between four...

War Thunder on PS4: PS Plus Starter Pack is Coming July 1st

50°
4w ago - Gaijin Head of PR Alexander Trifonov announced that the PS Plus Starter Pack for War Thunder on PS4 is coming this July 1st with details below.

To quote: Beginning July 1st, all PlayStation Plus members will get a free plane in War Thunder on PS4: the P-36A Curtis Hawk of 2nd Lieutenant Philip Rasmussen, who earned a Silver Star while defending Pearl Harbor. Here's a little history behind it.

Philip Rasmussen awoke to the shouts and explosions of the attack on Pearl Harbor, December 7th 1941. It was 8:00 AM when twenty-five Aichi D3A1 "Val" dive-bombers dived onto their targets at Wheeler field on the island of Oahu, their 250 kilogram bombs striking the maintenance hangars and P-40 and P36 fighters parked closely together on the flight line and strafing the barracks and tents, causing many casualties before leaving the battered airfield.

Сlad only in his purple silk pajamas, Rasmussen raced across the open ground to rescue what aircraft remained. He was joined by 1st Lieutenant Lewis Sanders with 2nd Lieutenants John Thacker and Gordon Sterling.

The four P-36A Curtiss Hawks took flight and soon saw eleven Japanese planes attacking the Bellows Air Fields. The group attacked, using the speed and surprise of the attack to their advantage. Rasmussen, however, soon found...

Video: Sniper Elite 3 Hits PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 Tuesday

4w ago - Rebellion Head of Creative Tim Jones announced today alongside a video that Sniper Elite 3 hits PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 on Tuesday.

To quote: We're really excited to get Sniper Elite 3 out there on PS4 and PS3 next week. It's the sniper game the fans really wanted, and we're glad that we have been able to deliver.

Right after Sniper Elite V2 we asked the fans what they thought about that game - the good bits, the bad bits, and what needed to happen in Sniper Elite 3.

The DLC development on Sniper Elite V2 really paved the way for SE3, as it allowed us to R&D the expansive environments that were to become the core of Sniper Elite 3. We really wanted to offer true choice to the player, a non-linear experience that allowed you to tackle objectives in the order and way you saw fit.

We know a lot of fans were frustrated that stealth was really hard in Sniper Elite V2 - it was very easy to get detected, and very hard to know if the enemy could see you or not. That's all changed in Sniper Elite 3 - you really can go loud or be quiet as you choose.

Of course, a good sniper is as quiet as possible, but if you need or want to go loud we've also added a 'relocate' mechanic - after all,...
