Multi PKG Tool to Decrypt / Extract PS3, PSP and PS Vita PKG Files

109w ago - Following up on his previous release, today PlayStation Vita developer PsDev has made available a Multi PKG Tool which now allows users to decrypt and extract PS3, PSP, and PS Vita PKG files.

Download: Multi PKG Tool v.1.0.0.1

To quote: This Tool can decrypt and extract Playstation Vita, Playstation Portable or Playstation 3 retail pkg.

It uses the PSP/PS3 AES key that is used to decrypt and extract PSP/PS3 retail pkg. However, No longer can Playstation Vita PKG over beta/retail 1.00+ be decrypted and extracted with the PSP AES key.

AES Keys used

I would like to give a big, big, big thanks to Mathieulh, Because I used his AES Engine to decrypt PS3 retail pkg, Without that it could have taken me way longer to make this tool.

PS3 4.10 CFW / MFW Includes Install Package Files by TechnoDon

113w ago - Here is my first PS3 4.10 CFW (Custom Firmware) / MFW (Modified Firmware) which includes the Install Package Files option in the PlayStation 3 XMB for those interested.

Download: PS3 4.10 CFW / MFW with Install Package Files by TechnoDon ( Warning: Read Notes below before installing!)

For those curious, this PS3 CFW / MFW is a modified 4.10 Kiosk / Shop Firmware via PS3MFW Builder intended for installation on PS3 3.55 Retail consoles.

Changes:

1. Custom Coldboot
2. Kiosk/Shop XMB restrictions have been removed so PlayStation Home/PlayStation Store work fine.
3. Modified to allow installation of retail signed packages

Notes: DO NOT install this unless you have an E3 flasher or Progskeet type device to downgrade your PS3 to 3.55. Unfortunately 3.55 signed PS3 homebrew does not install/run. Also be aware it doesn't load any PlayStation 3 game backups so you will need to have the game disc to play them.

MultiMAN v04.01.00 DEX Update Mod (20120204) PKG is Released

115w ago - This weekend an anonymous PlayStation 3 developer has made available a MultiMAN v04.01.00 DEX Update Mod (20120204) PKG for those who own PS3 Debug / Test consoles and wish to enable game back-ups on it.

Download: multiMAN v04.01.00 DEX Update Mod (20120204) PKG

To quote: You need to install the mmCM v04.01.00 released yesterday first on your DEX, then run this UPD PKG to get multiMAN to now run & play games from your HDD

This makes the mmCM function as normal multiMAN on DEX machines running 3.55 just like on CEX, but of course without the Cobra exclusive functions!

Not much more can be said about this release, but it seems to work on QA flag'ed CEX machines also thanks to LV2_Loader and the previous dexl0ve posting

Video: Adding 'Install Package Files' on PS3 4.00 Dev_Flash Mod

1300°
117w ago - Below is a video demonstrating my PS3 4.00 Dev_Flash modification, which simply allows users to install Retail signed package (PKG) files from the PlayStation 3 XMB.

Note: This modification does not allow the installation / usage of unsigned content / PS3 homebrew etc. This is purely a convenience hack and is aimed for use by those who have hardware flashers which allow dual boot.

After technodon's work creating a modified kiosk dev_flash which lets you install retail signed package files. The restrictions of having to use kiosk firmware inspired me to find a way to add "Install Package Files" for retail firmware.

This is hack does the following things:

  • adds "★ Install Package Files" and "★ /app_home/PS3_GAME/" to "GAME" on the XMB (allowing the user to install retail package files anytime they want)
  • adds other debug functions which are small but still there
  • does not give access to "★ Debug Setting" (reasons for this are explained below)

Installation instructions:

This installation procedure is the similar to technodon's original dev_flash hdd swap procedure

For this...
