Video: Table Top Racing Launches on PlayStation Vita Today

2w ago - Playrise Digital CEO Nick Burcombe shared a PS Vita video trailer announcing that Table Top Racing launches on PlayStation Vita today.

To quote: Hi! Nick Burcombe here from Playrise Digital, the team behind Table Top Racing on PS Vita. You may have seen my blog post a couple of weeks ago - hello again, if that's the case!

Table Top Racing is out today, so I'm back to show you guys the brand new launch trailer... As it's launch day, I thought I'd give you guys a few tactical tips before you start revving your engines.

First and foremost, make sure you upgrade your car as you progress - otherwise you won't keep up with the competition. Things get even more interesting when you start experimenting with Weapon-Wheels.

In conjunction with the power-ups, the wheel weapons will give you a real strategic advantage, so think carefully about your selection before each race.

There are 17 fully upgradeable cars, all of which come with some cool skins. You start off with a choice between the Whippy Kai-Yay! Ice Cream Van or the Hippy Bathday Campervan, but in no time at all you'll be upgrading through to the likes of Rally Cars, suped-up pick-up trucks and hyper-cars like the Veloceratti and the Baguetti Carb Injection - we had a lot of fun with the car names.

Video: Sony Goes Hands-on with Metrico on PlayStation Vita

2w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Justin Massongill went hands-on today with Metrico on PlayStation Vita complete with a PS Vita video trailer below.

To quote: Metrico, [Register or Login to view links]' input-morphing, mind-bending puzzle platformer, hits PS Vita tomorrow (for free if you're a PlayStation Plus member).

In it, players will need to think in unexpected ways to overcome obstacles like bar graphs, pie charts, and... wait, what?

Yeah, Metrico's gameplay centers around the world of infographics. Charts manifest and shift as you run and jump - one puzzle even requires the player to throw themselves into a bottomless pit to summon a bar graph, creating a bridge to the next area.

The music in Metrico is worth pointing out. It comes courtesy of Dutch composer [Register or Login to view links], and it delivers some seriously slick atmosphere to this weird, genre-bending game.

Metrico isn't really the easiest thing to describe with words, though. Thus, I humbly present a hands-on video recently recorded in our studio here at PlayStation HQ. Cast your gaze back to the top of this very page and watch me infograph!

New Sony PlayStation and PSN Game Releases for August 5, 2014

3w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Justin Massongill is here with this weeks new PlayStation and PSN game releases below, as follows:

Two long-awaited, rather mysterious titles are not only coming to PlayStation this week - they'll be free for PlayStation Plus members from the get-go.

The adorably puzzling Road Not Taken puts players into the boots of a tiny ranger, seeking to rescue lost children after an unforgiving winter storm. Procedural level generation will keep you on your toes, and will mean a different story each time you play.

Metrico is an infographic-inspired side-scrolling platformer that uses PS Vita's unique hardware to deliver an experience you won't find anywhere else. Figure out how to manipulate the very world around you to overcome unassuming obstacles, and veg out to an ultra-chill soundtrack by Dutch composer Palmbomen.

Other highlights this week include The Swapper, part of the PlayStation Store PLAY 2014 promotion (PS Plus members can pre-order to save a few bucks), and a standalone version of legendary brawler Ultra Street Fighter IV. Read on for more details on this week's new releases, and enjoy the Drop!
