Konami Announces Suikoden II is Coming to PlayStation Network

50°
3w ago - Konami's Travis Shrodes announced today that Suikoden II is coming to PlayStation Network with details on the PSN version below.

To quote: Of all my years at KONAMI, I think the biggest request I've received by volume is Suikoden II. The "little RPG that could" released in North America in 1999 with a now infamous few units produced.

Prices of the title have surged in recent years as fans and would-be fans have had tremendous difficulty securing a copy of the venerated title. It is then with great joy that I am able to announce that *deep breath* Suikoden II is coming to PlayStation Network as a PS one Classic in North America for the first time on December 9th.

The second entry of the series follows as a continuation of the story set in City-States of Jowston, where social unrest has led to a military uprising against the oppressive Highland Kingdom Military led by Prince Luca Blight. Players take on the role of Riou; a youth swept up in the politics and fighting that threatens to burn the countryside asunder.

With his comrades Jowy and Nanami, Riou is tasked to recruit the 108 Stars of Destiny, heroes to stand by his side. Featuring three different battle types, mini-games and multiple endings, as well as a massive branching storyline, it's no wonder it has earned such...

Video: Severed Coming to PS Vita in Spring 2015, Gameplay Trailer

3w ago - DrinkBox Studios COO Graham Smith announced today that Severed is coming to PS Vita in Spring 2015 with a PlayStation Vita gameplay trailer below.

To quote: Well it is an exciting month, with all the work we've put into our newest game Severed, and the announcement that we'll be launching on the PS Vita this Spring. But let me not get ahead of myself.

The PlayStation community has been unbelievably supportive since we first released the original Guacamelee!, so it was a no brainer to bring Severed to the same fans. The Vita is really a great fit for Severed as the game feels very natural there, taking full advantage of both the D-pad and multi touch screen. We can't wait for Vita owners to try it out!

At this point you're probably wondering "What the heck is Severed?"

In Severed you take control of a one-armed heroine wielding a living sword. Crazy, eh? You'll be using touch based mechanics to employ offensive and defensive techniques against a variety of enemies.

In Severed you gain abilities by wearing Totems - armor pieces that are created from the remains of defeated Bosses. These abilities, such as Sunder, can be used both in combat to destroy enemy defenses and in exploration to...

Video: Skytorn PS4 is Coming to PlayStation 4, Teaser Trailer Out

50°
3w ago - Programmer Noel Berry posted up a PS4 video teaser trailer today announcing that Skytorn is coming to PlayStation 4 with details below.

To quote: Skytorn over the past year alongside the developers of Towerfall Ascension and Night in the Woods in our Vancouver-based IndieHouse. Skytorn is a procedurally generated adventure / exploration game, set in the skies of a post-apocalyptic world.

Our goal is to make a platform adventure game that is focused very heavily on combat, control, and exploration. We want the world to feel alive and dangerous, and let the player traverse it in interesting ways. Every time you play, you'll discover a whole new island in the sky, with new dungeons and challenges to explore and overcome.

Skytorn takes place in a crumbling and decaying world in the sky. Survivors hold on to the remnants of technology left behind by the fading old society, searching for clues to reunite what was lost. Forgotten dungeons deep within the islands of the sky, now overrun with dark and dangerous creatures, hold the secrets to what once was.

You play as a traveller who uses her trusty shovel to dig through terrain and fight off hostile creatures. As you roam the island you will discover new...

Video: Orcs Must Die is Invading PlayStation 4 for the First Time

50°
3w ago - Robot Entertainment Community Manager Justin Korthof announced today that Orcs Must Die is invading PlayStation 4 for the first time with details below.

To quote: You hear that sound? That dull, rhythmic pounding you can feel in your knickers? That's the sound of hundreds of orc axes, fists, and foreheads beating against the mighty PS4 Fortress doors.

Today at the PlayStation Experience, we announced that Orcs Must Die! is coming back to consoles when the 5v5 Orcs Must Die! Unchained crashes the gates of the PS4 in 2015!

Go ahead. Read that again if you need to.

When the first OMD was released, players were dropped into the role of the overly-confident and woefully ill-prepared War Mage to help save his world from an army of invading orcs. If you played the first game, you know that the War Mage didn't so much win as he just sort of tore the whole magical institution thing to the ground.

Look, the point is, the orcs weren't invading anymore. So it still counts. By the time we catch up to Unchained, the rifts are open again, the magic is back, and the War Mage isn't the only guy with special powers anymore.

Orcs Must Die! Unchained is a Fortress Siege game that blends some...

Video: Bastion Coming to PS4 and PlayStation Vita Next Year

50°
3w ago - Supergiant Games Creative Director Greg Kasavin announced today that Bastion is coming to PS4 and PS Vita next year!

To quote: It is the year 2013: Supergiant Games, a small game studio based in San Francisco, California, is showing its forthcoming video game, Transistor, for the very first time at PAX East, a video game convention in Boston, Massachusetts. That was seven commas in one sentence.

Everything is going better than expected. Game players are waiting upwards of three hours - three hours! - just to play a brief demo of the game.

Afterwards they say various nice things to the development team. But then! Along come representatives from Sony Computer Entertainment America, a large division of a large international electronics corporation known for its PlayStation brand of game consoles.

The Sony representatives also play the Transistor game and afterwards they also say various nice things. The following week, the Supergiant Games team is at Sony Computer Entertainment's California headquarters to discuss bringing Transistor to Sony's forthcoming PS4 console...

That's more or less how it all started with us and the PS4. And if it sounds a little surreal, I can assure you, it has been. A matter of months after we first revealed Transistor to the world,...
