Payday: The Heist Wolfpack DLC on PlayStation Network Next Week

89w ago - Sony Online Entertainment Producer Oliver Smith has confirmed today that the Payday: The Heist Wolfpack DLC will be hitting PlayStation Network next week.

To quote: Attention PAYDAY crew! Wolfpack, the first PSN downloadable content for PAYDAY: The Heist, is coming to North America next Tuesday, August 7th.

We've been busy casing some new jobs for you, with Wolfpack featuring two never-before-seen epic heists - Undercover and Counterfeit.

The Undercover heist forces players to drive away the pesky police interrupting a back alley deal, while the Counterfeit heist pressures players to use silenced weapons to keep whistle-blowing civilians from escaping an underground money printing gig. If they tell the 5-0, they'll blow the whole operation!

We're also arming you with new weapons and crewmembers to ensure the job goes smoothly. These new heists require advanced skills, but award bigger payouts. Key features of the Wolfpack DLC include:

• New Weapons: Spray some lead on the move with the all-new auto handgun and assault rifle, or blow away tenacious foes with the shiny new grenade launcher. Need someone to watch your back? Release the deployable sentry gun to take out your enemies.

• The Technician: Based on the character Wolf, the technician...

Video: New PSP SRPG Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time Out Next Week

90w ago - Atlus Manager of Public Relations and Sales Aram Jabbari has announced today alongside a video trailer that a new PSP SRPG Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time will be out next week!

To quote: We're way-fairly convinced you're going to find this post way-fairly awesome, and no, not just because it's about Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time, the upcoming PSP strategy RPG from, well... us.

As for why we're so convinced, it's becau- wait, what? Oh, no, you heard right; we said "PSP."

Look, folks, it's still an immensely popular system with a huge user base and an amazing library of RPGs and SRPGs. Also, with a game as ridiculously lengthy as Growlanser: WoT (and this PSP remaster is significantly meatier than the original release from way-back-when).

It does take a while to localize things from Japanese to English, so it's not as though we're eagerly planning PSP games for 2025. Unless, of course, the PSP becomes sentient and takes over the world, in which case we welcome our new PSP overlords and commit to supporting the system for all eternity.

Anyhoo, the reason you should be am excite for this post is because:

It is to celebrate the debut of the game's full trailer (above), which shows...

Neko Announces Puddle Splashes on to PlayStation Vita Next Week

100°
91w ago - Neko Entertainment QA Manager Sebastian Chipot has announced today that Puddle will be splashing on to PlayStation Vita next week with details below.

To quote: Hello, I'm Sebastien from Neko Entertainment. We came out with a game earlier this year called Puddle, and we're bringing it to PS Vita next week!

Puddle began as a project by six students of the video game school ENJMIN. It won a Student Showcase prize at the Independent Gaming Festival at GDC 2010, and was later picked up by Neko Entertainment. There, those same six students were able to turn it into a full-fledged game.

After we released the game on PS3, we worked hard to get a better handle on the game's mechanics, so we'd be able to deliver a new version of Puddle on PS Vita. We paid particular attention to feedback from PS3 players when working on the PS Vita version – which will have many exclusive features!

We made the game a bit easier (there's an option to "whine and skip" a level if it's proving too difficult), there are now tips on every loading screen, and menus have been changed to take advantage of the touch screen.

You can change the control setup (tilt the console, use the left stick, use L and R buttons, or even use the rear touch pad). We wanted to make sure you have...

Beyond Belief: A Trip Through Quantic Dream's Next Masterpiece

50°
96w ago - Sony PlayStation Blog Manager Fabio Santana of Brazil has shared fresh details today on Quantic Dream's next masterpiece dubbed Beyond: Two Souls!

To quote: Last week at the PlayStation's E3 Press Conference, one of the highlights of the night was Quantic Dream's David Cage stepping into the stage finally reveal his team's next masterpiece.

BEYOND: Two Souls for the PS3 impressed the crowd with its extremely detailed graphics and convincing performances of motion actors, including Hollywood talent Ellen Page.

By now, you must have seem the debut trailer dozens of times and may have even checked David Cage himself coming to our stage live at E3, but unfortunately the game was not available on the show floor for the general audience to try.

Luckily for us, we were able to witness the power of this interactive psychological action-thriller in a private session where Producer Ray Khalastchi from SCEE's XDev Studio walked us through a 20-plus-minute demo running on a PS3 - in case we had any doubts that the game was high-tech smoke and mirrors.

The demo consisted of five areas connected by a gripping narrative, all of which showed off the game's new graphics technology in all its glory, including the startlingly lifelike performances of actors achieved...
