250w ago - Forum user Digital-Nitrate of GTPlanet.net (linked above) has posted a few scans from the latest PlayStation: The Official Magazine (PTOM) which reveals both Gran Turismo 5 Night Racing and GT5 PS3 box art.

Apparently the game will have over 1,000 vehicles including Indy cars. All of which has modeled interiors, external visual deformation and mechanical damage.

170 "premium" cars also feature internal deformation. The magazine also confirms that the racing tracks will be supporting weather effects and day/night cycles.

From the gameplay perspective, Gran Turismo 5 will be using the PlayStation Eye for head-tracking. Moreover, you can set up the game to be displayed on three screens for multi-display if you have three PlayStation 3 systems lying around. Finally, the game will have Youtube HD uploading and 16-players online support.

Gran Turismo 5 is slated for a summer release on the PlayStation 3.

254w ago - Zipper Interactive's Sr. Community Manager Jeremy Dunham has posted up the official MAG PS3 box art today on the PlayStation Blog alongside some statistics from the MAG Beta.

To quote: We've been exceedingly grateful to those of you who participated in our MAG beta tests over the last several months and couldn't be happier with how everything turned out.

Naturally, with the end of our beta cycle, comes the countdown to our final release on January 26, and what better way to start that countdown than to reveal the final, "official" box art that you'll find in the United States and Canada. Have a gander!

Pretty sweet isn't it? Yeah, we like it too.

Now that you know what to look for in the future, let's go back to the past for a moment and talk about some interesting information we gathered over the last month.

• More than 42,000 matches were played over the course of the full public beta (August 17 - December 5).
• During October's beta period alone nearly 534,000+ miles were traveled in-game by MAG players each week.
• During the final month of the Beta 4 and 4.5 periods (November 9 - December 5):

Of the more than 65,000 players that logged on, 17,000 of them qualified for Squad Leader, 3500 people qualified...

255w ago - Square Enix released Final Fantasy XIII's European and North American box art today for the PS3 and XBox 360 console.

The box art simply features Lightning and the Final Fantasy XIII logo.

The image of Lighting is has been seen frequently in Final Fantasy XIII promotions before, include a desktop wallpaper on the official website for the game.

Box art for Final Fantasy titles in North America usually feature representations of characters, or a single character, so FFXIII has indeed followed suit in this case.

However, the same box art will be used in Europe, where Final Fantasy games typically feature just the game's logo.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Concept Art Shows Pittsburgh?

300°
264w ago - It appears Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is shaping up to be the biggest selling game in history, and there is a chance that Pittsburgh will be part of that experience.

The bi-weekly show [Register or Login to view links], released late last night, featured on Xbox.com and the Xbox Dashboard, showcased the upcoming mega hit from Infinity Ward.

To quote: "Featuring interviews with Robert Bowling (fourzerotwo) and other members of the team working on MW2, the video teases just a few more details about the experience players will have with all three game modes: campaign, multiplayer, and the new spec-ops missions.

As the interviews are happening, the video moves between three things: the interviewee speaking, previously released Capture the Flag multiplayer footage, and concept art. Admiring the concept art, something catches my eye. At the 1:54 mark of the video timestamp there is a clear, undeniable picture of Pittsburgh on fire with helicopters overhead and boats in the river.

No details were given about the picture and, to date, very little has been confirmed about plot or story locations. Could the main storyline come through Pittsburgh? Perhaps one of the many spec-ops missions will be set in the Steel City....
