160w ago - Today Alexander Bravve at Nordcurrent has shared a video introduction of Jewel Keepers: Easter Island for Sony's PSP handheld console.
To quote: We are releasing Jewel Keepers: Easter Island, our latest minis title, very soon, and I wanted to tell you a few things about it.
As you might have guessed from the title, Jewel Keepers: Easter Island is a Match-3 game set on the Easter Island. As in all Match-3 games, you are required to swap adjacent jewels to put three jewels of the same colour next to each other in one row or column.
However, we have added a few gameplay elements that make Jewel Keepers different. You can have a look at the trailer to see the differences:
When you start a new level, all cells are grey. When jewels disappear, they turn grey cells into golden cells, and the goal of the game is to turn all cells into golden ones. This sounds pretty straight-forward when you think of an ordinary rectangular level.
However, as you progress further, you will be faced with more sophisticated level shapes, and it will get more and more challenging. And satisfying, once you complete the level.
And a few words about bonuses: we wanted to make bonuses a bit different from other games. We have time...
161w ago - Team17 Community Manager Mark Baldwin has revealed several customization options today in Worms: Battle Islands for PSP.
To quote: A couple of weeks ago, we introduced the latest game in our long-running Worms series, Worms: Battle Islands on PSP.
We gave an overview of the game and introduced some of the single-player and multiplayer modes included. This time, we want to show you some of the customisation options that will make Worms: Battle Islands the most personal title in the series.
The ability for players to customise their team of worms has always been a mainstay feature of the series and one that I think people who play the game get a lot of enjoyment from. For Worms: Battle Islands, we put a lot of effort into increasing the player's options for how they customise their team.
There are new customisation categories such as masks and backpacks, and over a hundred different items with which the player can leave their personal mark. It's possibly the highest degree of customisation we've ever had in a Worms game, and it's certainly the most customisable of the 2D games.
To act as a nice aside to the action and to allow the player to demonstrate their creative side, we've...
163w ago - Today Team17 Community Manager Mark Baldwin has introduced Worms: Battle Islands for the PlayStation Portable handheld console.
To quote: This winter sees the release of the latest game in our long running Worms series, Worms: Battle Islands, on PSP available from PlayStation Store.
Worms: Battle Islands marks the third time that the series has made an appearance on the PSP, and the game is packed with content and great new features, some of which I'll be talking about in this post.
The first thing to say about the game is that at its core it's the traditional 2D Worms experience.
It's a turn based game where players use a mix of strategy and skill to move their army of worms about a landscape, and attack one another with a range of funny weapons (exploding sheep, deadly bananas, fully automatic sub machine guns, etc.) until the last team standing are declared the winners. The physics are much more solid in this version and the game features a sizable inventory of forty different weapons and utilities, leading to more complex strategies and a more rewarding experience.
In this game the players can do battle in six different environments. Often in Worms games the game's themes have...
166w ago - Sony's Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein has shared several Ubisoft video game title updates that are destined for PSN today, including Beyond Good & Evil HD, Scott Pilgrim DLC, From Dust and Outland!
To quote: In addition to the games - From Dust, Outland, Beyond Good & Evil HD and Scott Pilgrim DLC - Ubisoft also revealed future Facebook integration for titles like the upcoming Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.
In the Assassin's Creed Brotherhood example shown, you'll be able to train and interact with your guild of assassins on Facebook (while at work, for example), and then have that experience translate back into the PS3 version of the game, and vice versa.
"You will continue to see brands like Assassin's Creed across all content types," Ubisoft VP of Digital Publishing Chris Early told us. "We want the player to experience the brands whenever and however they want."
We also went hands on with the titles listed above. Here are some quick recaps:
Beyond Good & Evil HD
Perhaps the biggest news of the evening was final confirmation that the PS2 fan favorite and cult classic Beyond Good & Evil will be re-released as a downloadable PSN title. Beyond Good &...
