Grand Theft Auto IV for PC Exclusive Features Detailed

50°
316w ago - According to GameSpy, Italian magazine The Game Machine has revealed new details about the PC version of Grand Theft Auto IV as follows:

- The replay editor can record, save and edit the last 30 seconds of the game. Once you have saved your video, you can open another piece of internal software in order to change the point of view and add special effects.

The montage editor allows you to edit various replays into a single sequence, add audio tracks from the Official soundtrack of the game and add effects like transition from a sequence to another. You can then upload and publish your videos to the Rockstar Social Club to share them with the world.

- The GPS map has been improved. You can now point and click with the mouse on a specific location and make notes or add images to personalize it.

- Improved streaming will be possible with the power of todays processors. If you have seen cars on the road that matched the car you are driving, this has been somewhat fixed. More pedestrians and vehicles will be visible.

Take-Two Considering Grand Theft Auto on Wii?

50°
320w ago - Take-Two may be thinking about bringing Grand Theft Auto to the Nintendo Wii, reports MCV. At an earnings call, Take-Two CEO Ben Feder commented on the close relationship the company has garnered with Nintendo in the development of Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars.

"I will tell you that we've spent an enormous amount of time and effort working with Nintendo and developing that partnership," he said.

He goes on to comment that the company will "continue to build that relationship," and calls Chinatown Wars an "important step." When asked directly about a Grand Theft Auto game on the Nintendo Wii, Feder turned suspiciously evasive. "So without commenting on whether GTA specifically...is coming to the Wii or not, I will say that Nintendo and Take-Two work very well together," he said.

"We intend to continue to grow that relationship." This isn't by any means a confirmation, but refusing to give a straight no means it could be in the cards.

Note, of course, that he says GTA, not mentioning Grand Theft Auto IV by name, a game which could be difficult to port to the less powerful Wii hardware. If a title in the series is on its way to Wii -- and that's already a big "if" -- it's more likely to be a new...

Cops: Grand Theft Auto videogame inspired teen crimes

300°
330w ago - Stephen Attard, 18, was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery after police say he and a group of teenagers went on a crime spree in Nassau County.

Teenagers who police say went on a video-game-inspired late-night crime spree were arraigned Thursday after police say they mugged a man outside a New Hyde Park supermarket and menaced motorists in Garden City with a baseball bat, a crowbar and a broomstick.

The teens told detectives they were imitating the Grand Theft Auto video game series where players steal cars, beat up other characters and score points for committing crimes.

Police have identified at least three victims: a man they said was severely beaten and had his teeth knocked out during a robbery; a would-be carjacking victim who called 911; and a driver whose van was smashed with a bat.

Nassau Det. Lt. Raymond Coté said there are likely more victims who were attacked. At one point during the spree, the group encountered young people their age.

"They realize they know them from school and they can't rob them," Coté said. "Two of them they enlist in this crime spree and now they're joining the pack. It's an angry mob of youths."

Arrested and charged with felony robbery were Dylan Laird, 17, of Southborough, Mass., and Stephen Attard,...
