100°
232w ago - Today SingStore Technical Project Management Manager David Thach revealed their PlayStation 3 summer updates, which include a SingStar PS3 Online Battle Mode and SingStar Dance.

To quote: Along with the new support to detect your true vibrato that will have you singing like a pro, the update allows players to compete in online Battles against their friends.

If you and a friend own the same song, get your mics ready, send them an invitation, and get ready to throw down for SingStar bragging rights!

Another fantastic new feature for all of you PSP owners is that you can now create playlists directly from your PSP with SingStar Remote, so that your SingStar party keeps on rockin' without ever missing a beat.

Following its debut at E3, a lot positive buzz has been generated around SingStar Dance. My advice to all of you dancing machines is to start dusting off your best moves for its release this Holiday season! Many of you wanted to find out more about it, so we have included some frequently asked questions for you.

We'll have more SingStar news to share with you very soon, so stay tuned! If you have any questions about the update or SingStar Dance, feel free to leave a question on this post for myself and...

Sony Announces SingStar Online Battle Mode and Incoming Beta

50°
245w ago - SCEE European Product Manager Rob Rutter has announced news today of a SingStar Online Battle Mode and PS3 Beta coming soon.

To quote: I'm really pleased to be able to let you know about a great new gameplay feature coming soon to SingStar in the June update.

For the first time, you'll be able to take part in Online Battles against your friends in SingStar. When competing in an Online Battle, you'll send an invite to one of your PSN friends, match songs (you both need to own a song to play it) - pick-up the mic and in true MC style 'let battle commence'.

When playing, you can view your opponent's score live, and see them playing via PlayStation Eye.

As this is a new feature for SingStar, the team needs to test out the gameplay with real players, and this is where you come in! We're running a Closed Beta for our most dedicated SingStar players to come and help us test out new features and upgrades to the game. If you're already a SingStar player aged over 18 with a European PSN account, have the game, mics and an online-enabled PS3, we need your help!

If you're interested in taking part in the Beta, head over to [Register or Login to view links] and fill in the online...

Video: Assassin's Creed II - Battle of Forli Hits PSN This Week

200°
256w ago - Sony's Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein has posted up a video on the PlayStation Blog today introducing Assassin's Creed II - Battle of Forli which hits PSN this week.

To quote: If you played through Assassin's Creed II this winter (Platinum Trophy right here, folks), then you may recall there were a couple of corrupted sequences that Desmond wasn't able to access in the Animus.

Well, this week, you'll be able to play through the first of two "repaired" sequences, as The Battle of Forli hits the PSN on Thursday.

Producer Frederic Lefrancois (you remember him, right?) has some more details on the DLC:

The battle of Forli is an actual battle where the Orsi brothers attacked the city of Forli which was ruled at the time by Caterina Sforza. Ezio and Machiavelli - leader of the Florence mercenaries - make their way to the citadel of Forli with the apple of Eden to request protection from Caterina Sforza.

As they approach, something goes wrong: Forli is under attack! Borgia guards are laying siege to the city. The attack seems to be lead by the two dreaded Orsi brothers. Players will have to protect the city alongside Sforza and the great Machiavelli who they have met towards the end of sequence 11. The flying machine will also be accessible...
