MotorStorm: Pacific Rift Demo Gets Limited Release Next Week

200°
329w ago - Sony's semi-official blog ThreeSpeech has just heard that a demo of MotorStorm: Pacific Rift will be available to a few select people next Thursday.

Apparently, some gamers will be chosen at random to receive an e-mail with a voucher code to download the demo. The Demo will be available to everyone else next month.

To quote: ThreeSpeech has just heard that a demo of hotly anticipated off-road racer, MotorStorm: Pacific Rift (as if we need to explain what MSPR is to you guys...) will be made available to a lucky few next Thursday. Some of you lucky lucky people will be selected at random to receive an email with a voucher code allowing you to download the demo, with it being made available to everyone else next month.

We're expecting more details on this next week so keep checking back. Sadly ThreeSpeech can't do anything to increase your chances of being chosen, but you know we would if we could...

A few of our retail contacts, some of whom have given Joystiq good intel in the past -- and who all work for separate corporations -- have sent us identical information regarding a price drop.

Evidence of the Elite and Arcade price cut can be found in the picture below featuring an image from the Sept. 7 Radio Shack flyer.

PS3 Home BETA Update v0.96.3 Release This Week

100°
334w ago - The update is supposed to drop this week (Thursday, July 31st). Other testers will not be invited until the closed BETA testers try it out first.

The update will not come as a patch, but rather a unique code sent to your email and redeemed via Account Management in your XMB.

HOME will then be part of the XMB rather than under the GAME section on your XMB.
