Age of Booty to Plunder PlayStation Network Soon

50°
312w ago - Per John Diamonon (Capcom) via PS Blog:

I'm glad to be back here with the PlayStation Posse and talk about a game that I'm looking forward to - Age of Booty. No, it's not an online dating game.

It's a casual, pirate-themed, online strategy game from some of the makers of Halo.

Actually, I consider this more of a multiplayer party game because it's really easy to play and allows for a lot of smack talk. Yarrr!

Here are more details:

• Release date: Soon (I'll confirm when I get a solid date)
• Price: Only $9.99!
• Trophies: No comment at this time.
• Add on content: Lots of free map packs in the future plus some cool expansions.
• Players: Up to 8 players online - You can play a 4 player local match then take the team online!
• Demo:Available a couple weeks after launch with online multiplayer matches!

Max Hoberman, one of the founders of the company that developed the game, has been kind enough to write this message to you, the PlayStation fans, and answer some of your questions (This is his time, so I probably won't answer your Capcom related questions for a couple days). Anyway, heeeeeeere's Max!

Hi everyone. My name...

Prince of Persia Classic Jumping onto the PlayStation Network

50°
312w ago - According to an article published on the PlayStation Games & Media News site last week, a PlayStation Network version of Prince of Persia Classic is on its way.

The PSN version appears to be the same as the XBLA release from last year, which saw a graphical and control upgrade to the original (and retro frustrating) Prince of Persia from 1989.

There's currently no price announced for the title, but if we had to guess, it would be $10 like the XBLA version.

Finally, Ubisoft has been contacted and asked about a release date, more details to come as they are available.

Sony Unveils Companies that will Initially use PlayStation Home

50°
312w ago - With PlayStation Home on the way soon (at least we hope it is, but we would not bet money on it), Sony has shown an image at TGS 2008 that shows what companies they are working with to include features in Home.

Sony did not reveal what each companies would be doing what, so some could just be sticking their logo on in-game items, while others may going all out and creating rooms to go hand in hand with upcoming game.

Regardless, the list of companies looks interesting, with many of the big names in the industry looking to offer something to the service.

However, we have to say the lack of a SquareEnix logo is very surprising.

Uncharted Waters Setting Sail on PlayStation 3 Next Year

50°
312w ago - Update: The PS3 version will feature enhanced visuals and a new interface. Now it appears that the game might use the same servers, but that hasn't been confirmed.

Koei's PC title Uncharted Waters will be sailing swiftly onto PS3 in 2009.

Not to be confused with the similarly named jungle-romp Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, in Uncharted Waters Online, you take on the role of a character from one of Europe's seafaring nations including Portugal, Spain, England, and more.

From your base in Lisbon, Seville, London, or another of the headquarter cities, you may choose the path of the adventurer, the merchant, or the soldier and make your fortune on the seas.

When it launches, the game will be hosted on the same servers as the PC iteration. We'll have more for you on Uncharted Waters soon.
