212w ago - Today John Hight, Director of Product Development at Santa Monica Studio, has announced the launch of God of War Collection for Sony's PS3 console.
To quote: Kratos has finally come to the PS3! Just in time for the holidays, fans can now enjoy the award-winning God of War and God of War II in stunning HD.
To give you a refresher on specifics, God of War Collection includes both critically acclaimed games remastered in full HD resolution complete with 2X anti-aliased graphics running at 60 frames per second – all on a single Blu-ray disc.
And if this ultra smooth gameplay wasn't enough, we've also added PlayStation Network (PSN) PS3 trophy support to the franchise for the first time (included for both games).
Our team did an exceptional job supporting the release of God of War Collection while at the same time tending their work on God of War III. It's inspirational for us to see the critical acclaim and the overall positive reception we're receiving for this package.
We take pride in everything we do and it's cool to see that our fans appreciate the effort. An Olympic-sized thank you goes out to the entire Santa Monica Studio, as well as Bluepoint Games,...
212w ago - Today SCEA Producer Jason Coker has announced that Pinball Heroes is available on PSN for PSP, and has shared a video of it in action.
To quote: Jason Coker here, Producer of the new downloadable PSP title, Pinball Heroes, which is available beginning TODAY for download onto your PSP from the PlayStation Store for $3.99 each. So, what is Pinball Heroes?
Well, the Pinball Heroes team loves pinball - go figure - and we also love the games that Sony Computer Entertainment publishes, so we figured, "Hey, what if we were to make pinball tables based on SCE titles?"
We approached some of the internal teams here at Sony, made the magic happen, and we've put together a really fun mix of tables, both in the range of pinball game play types and in the titles we're representing. Please take a look at the trailer below to give you an idea of what I'm talking about:
There are four different tables available to download, which are based on High Velocity Bowling, Hot Shots Golf, PAIN, and UNCHARTED. For me, the coolest thing about Pinball Heroes is that if you dig pinball, you'll really like any of the tables because of the diverse set of challenges that each one features, including an in-game trophy shelf, in-game trophies,...
212w ago - Update: It's now out in Europe as of today too!
Today Joel DeYoung of Hothead Games has announced that Braid for PS3 is available on Sony's PlayStation Network.
To quote: On behalf of Hothead Games, I'm excited to be able to present you with Braid, available today for $14.99 on PSN in North America.
At Hothead, we work diligently to support developers throughout the indie community, and Jonathan Blow, the original creator of the game, has been a particularly great partner (we also worked with him on a Mac version earlier this year).
When Braid first came out, we were really blown away by its combination of unique art style and clever puzzle gameplay, but there was just one problem - it was only on one platform!
At Hothead, we really believe strongly in being platform-agnostic (we even ship our games on Linux!), so we thought it only right for PS3 players to have access to Braid too. We got in touch with Jon and suggested working together on realizing his vision on additional platforms.
As we collaborated on the project, there were two big things that we always kept in mind - the first was preserving that original impactful moment when...
213w ago - Zipper Interactive Sr. Community Manager Jeremy Dunham has officially announced today that their Massive Action Game (MAG) Beta 4 for Sony's PS3 console starts today.
To quote: I wanted to share some news regarding our latest MAG beta program that we're kicking off right now. Starting today, we've officially moved into our next Beta phase - Beta 4.
We've made more than 6,000 changes from our last phase to Beta 4, not the least of which include an increased level cap from 40 to 60, a retooled skill tree and experience curve, and an improved ranking system - all based on the feedback from our diligent testing crew.
We've also introduced two new major features to Beta 4. We've implemented the oft-asked about "proximity chat" feature that allows you to hear enemies communicating as you get closer, or trash talk them yourself as you punch 'em full of lead.
We've also introduced Shadow War bonuses. Depending on which PMCs are leading in the number of contracts owned, the entire PMC will earn different bonuses based on gametype. Leading in Sabotage adds experience points, leading in Acquisition increases leadership aura distance, and leading in Domination decreases tactical strike cooldown time.
Other new additions to Beta 4 include improvements...
214w ago - Frima Studio Executive Producer Martin Brouard has announced that Zombie Tycoon will be hitting Sony's PSP Minis today and shared a video.
To quote: Zombies! Aren't they AWESOME? Yeah we think so too.
However, while many games tend to be all about defeating a zombie infestation, we think it's about time that zombies get to feast properly on human brains. Prepare your weapons and sharpen your teeth because you'll be up against the whole humanity and not a single individual should escape!
Zombie Tycoon lets you take 'control' of a hilarious zombie horde in order to achieve complete world domination. Doing so will require a lot brain throwing, building trashing, mascot bashing as well as equipping some of the silliest loot ever conceived.
We are really proud to say that, just in time for Halloween, Zombie Tycoon will be available as a PSP mini title on the PlayStation Network for just $7.99.
