184w ago - Today Activision's Social Media Manager Dan Amrich has announced news that a Double XP weekend is incoming for Call of Duty: Black Ops on the PlayStation 3.

To quote: Leo Tolstoy once [Register or Login to view links], "The two most powerful warriors are patience and time."

Ask any PlayStation gamer who missed out on the Call of Duty: Black Ops double XP weekend a few weeks ago, and they'll tell you: Leo knew what he was talking about.

While other platforms soaked up the extra experience points, PS3 gamers had to hang in there while PlayStation put everything in order behind the scenes. In cases like that, patience isn't a virtue – patience is a pain in the butt.

As the double-XP date loomed nearer, more and more PlayStation gamers wondered if they'd be able to take part in the festivities, and [Register or Login to view links] - developer of Black Ops - swore to fans that they would not be forgotten.

This weekend, they're quickly making good on that promise, with a double-XP period that lasts from this Friday, May 20th at 10am all the way through the weekend and beyond - the good stuff keeps coming until 10am on Tuesday the 24th. What's more, that's...

189w ago - SCEE Blog Manager James Gallagher has unveiled Capcom's announcement today alongside a video trailer of Dragon's Dogma for the PlayStation 3 entertainment system.

To quote: Dragon's Dogma is a new intellectual property from the creators of Devil May Cry 4 and Resident Evil 4. And while it resembles another [Register or Login to view links] series featuring monsters and the hunting thereof, we're promised a unique experience when the game launches in "early 2012."

I played a short demo and met with the game's director, Hideaki Itsuno, and it's producer, Hiroyuki Kabayashi, at Capcom's Captivate event in Miami last week.

"While they may have some superficial similarities, they are very different games at heart," explains Hideaki when asked about comparisons to Monster Hunter. "One key difference is that Dragon's Dogma has an overarching story whereas in Monster Hunter the focus is on the hunt."

In a nutshell, Dragon's Dogma is an open-world action adventure set in a world of swords, sorcery and enormous, deadly monsters. "When I was at junior high school I was really taken in by The Lord of the Rings, so I'm sure that has had a strong influence," explains Hideaki. "You can expect...
