PlayStation 3 BD-J Apple II Emulator v0.10 out, Keyboard Support

309w ago - A few days ago umjammer released a PS3 BD-J Apple II Emulator, and today he has updated it to v0.10.

The initial release didn't have keyboard support so there was no way to control it, but to quote from his post linked above:

Now we can play great old school games!

New Feature:

* Pad Control
* Virtual Keyboard
* Disk Selector
* .nib Reader

PlayStation 3 Qore Episode 5 Details Emerge

309w ago - September has nearly come to a close, and Qore Episode 5 is nearly upon us. We've got the details on the latest episode right here.

As the October issue, Qore will celebrate Halloween with the theme "The Monsters of Gaming," which will debut brand new footage of Fallout 3, Resident Evil 5 and Dead Space.

October also represents the approach of colder weather. In that spirit, Qore headed out to Park City, Utah to check out the PS3 version of Shaun White Snowboarding.

As always, the episode will feature an assortment of mini-games and downloadable content, though what form they will take has yet to be specified.

PlayStation 3 Left for Dead by Valve

309w ago - Valve are among the most respected and successful game developers of recent history. With a string of uber-successful titles franchises such as Half-Life, Counter-Strike, Portal and in the future the highly anticipated Left 4 Dead.

Add to that what is arguably the most used and reliable digital distribution system, Steam, and you have a very desirable business partner.

Which is a shame for PS3 owners. If you are a fan of any of these games, combining that with a love of the Sony console means that something has had to give. That comprimise has come in the shape of EA. GamerChip examines the implications of this predicament and why poorer versions of these great games are set to continue for Playstation gamers.

Looking at the history of Valve products, The brilliant Orange Box had to be handed over to EA to even get a version for the PS3. A lack of any development team in Valve gives a fairly clear indication of their priorities and resulted in a pretty dissapointing port. While this was appreciated by the consoles owners, the port suffered from unique issues, such as dropped frame rates and inconvenient load times. The polish and talent that created the original games never had the chance to give the PS3 version the spit and polish that is their trademark.

Level-5 Announces Ushiro for the PlayStation Portable

309w ago - Level-5, an independent video game developer and publisher based in Fukuoka, Japan has announced a new game called Ushiro for the Sony PlayStation Portable.

According to the latest Famitsu magazine, its release date is scheduled for next year in Japan.

Details thus far:

- Horror RPG where a shinigami clings on behind people that have exhausted their lives to experience their lives.
- As a shinigami you observe, possess, and fulfill the wishes of the person you're attached to.
- There's a scene where you fight a monster that is an embodiment of a person's malice.
