The Future of PlayStation 3

500°
309w ago - Ten years, the life span of the PlayStation 3. Sony has promised to make a future proof console, but how can it live that long? How can they continue delivering amazing games? Within 3-4 years we can be seeing a Xbox 720 and a Wii 2. Will Sony continue supporting the PS3? I believe so.

Sony is now hitting the tip of the iceberg with its hit games coming out, such as Resistance 2, LittleBigPlanet, and Killzone 2. Can it keep its momentum?

Yes, Sony can keep the momentum moving by the PSN store. It's incredible how just a few years ago we would never have seen this coming. The PSN store, where you can download full games, demos, trailers, wallpapers, PSP games, and more. You can now even download and rent movies and TV shows. In a few years from now, what can we expect to see on the PSN store? Whatever it maybe, I am sure it's going to make us realize the true potential of the PlayStation.

The PSN store is one main reason to look forward to the future, but that's not all. We also have Home, the online community, coming out this year. Imagine 2 - 3 years from now, Home will become its own world. Everyone having their own houses and apartments.

People will be headed to the movie theater together. Users watching TV together and sharing music through their in game stereo systems....

PlayStation 3 Triple Betas Explained

50°
310w ago - If you have been playing on your PS3 non-stop for the last couple of days, chances are you have one (or more) of the following betas: Resistance 2 Closed Beta (for now,) PlayStation Home Closed/Opened Beta, or SOCOM (the game not the gun or the US Special Operations Command) Confrontation beta - which you shouldn't have because it isn't even out yet.

Although, people can pull the strangest things off their sleeves, so who knows. If you are in one of those betas, consider yourself special; lets exclude PlayStation Home since there isn't anything special about it. It still looks the same. Just more people in the same boring place. (Do your duty as a tester and find some glitches though!)

If you are not on one of the betas and you are still playing your PS3 non-stop, you most likely have trophy fever. How about putting your desires of leveling up your PSN Level down for a bit, and educate yourself in how to get on these betas before its too late.

Anyways, Sony has or will be having three very important betas at the exact same time; which causes some problems since usually we aren't accepted in all of them if we are already in one of them. (PSU rules I think - not so sure.) So, lets get on with that educational speech I promised you...

Lets start with PlayStation Home. PlayStation...

Police: Man Steals PlayStation 3, Says it's to Save His Family

200°
310w ago - Now here's an interesting one, a man robbed a video game store claiming that he needed a PS3 in order to have his family released as they were being held hostage.

The suspect asked the clerk to call the police as his family needed help, but the suspect fled the scene shortly after. Oh, and he was carrying a gun...

To quote: The suspect went into the store, picked out a video game and approached the counter to check out. He pulled out a small handgun and told the store clerk that his family was being held hostage and that he needed a PlayStation 3 in order to have them released.

As he left the store, the suspect told the clerk to call the police, because his family needed help.

Police arrived shortly thereafter, but the suspect had fled the scene.
