135w ago - Ubisoft PR Specialist Alex Monney is here with a video peek at reliving pop history this weekend with Michael Jackson The Experience for the PlayStation Vita handheld.

To quote: I started at Ubisoft around the time that we launched the first iterations of [Register or Login to view links].

Being a longtime fan of the King of Pop, I always hoped that I could experience the game on the road. With Michael Jackson The Experience coming to PS Vita on February 14th, my wish has been granted!

In Michael Jackson The Experience, you'll experience the King of Pop's chart-topping tracks as you draw shapes and tap on both of PS Vita's multi touch pads to the beat and choreography of the Michael Jackson avatar.

You'll play through 15 HD scenes inspired by Michael Jackson's iconic music videos and short films, including "[Register or Login to view links]", "[Register or Login to view links]", "[Register or Login to view links]" and many more, all with high-definition quality graphics.

Master each of those performances and unlock collectibles and rewards, including alternative outfits and special effects....

Video: Sony Unveils PlayStation Access TV Episode 18 Preview

50°
135w ago - Sony Community Manager MusterBuster has unveiled a preview video today for PlayStation Access Episode 18 below.

To quote: If you could reach out and touch this week's episode of Access TV it would feel small, sleek and curiously curvy.

That's right, episode 18 of Access is on YouTube now, and it's decidedly PlayStation Vita-shaped, with our headline spot devoted to showing off the tricks, tech and awesome launch titles of the glorious new handheld.

Check out the likes of Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Little Deviants and [Register or Login to view links] right now.

And it doesn't end there. We've also got a report from the first PS Vita Rooms event in Manchester, where gamer crowds joined a packed line-up of celebs and performers in checking out the machine (and if you like what you see, make a date in your diary for the last PS Vita Rooms in London next month).

It's hard to top Manchester for glamour locations, but the team managed it this week with a visit to Rome, where we caught up with [Register or Login to view links] honcho and comic book star Joe Madureira about his work on Darksiders II.

PS3 3.60+ Games Booting on 3.55 / 3.41 CFW Without Dongle WIP

1350°
135w ago - Below is a work-in-progress (WIP) of PS3 3.60+ games booting on PlayStation 3 Custom Firmware (CFW) 3.55 and 3.41 without a dongle for those interested in experimenting further with it.

What you need ?

1- PS3 3.55 CFW Rebug or 3.55/3.41 with Debug
2- Debug Dev_Flash (Also allow to have the debug options on retail)
3- Backup of your own CFW DEV_Flash (make a dev_flash path on your USB Device)
4- A File Manager
5- EBOOT.BIN of your games (also from Paradox)

What you need to know

Rebug normal in Debug mode 2

  • You need to put your PS3 in boot mode -> debugger mode (and not system software mode)
  • We're gonna use the debugger mode to debug the self execution we don't need to have NPDRM, anyway the debugger don't know how to Debug the Self NPDRM
  • Release mode -> Development mode
  • All the content type configuration -> Development mode

Dongle uses modified sprx/modules/lib related to the Debug files to be loaded when you boot the PS3 on CFW.

Almost all the EBOOT Paradox don't have NPDRM -> it's a simple self (fake sign header) renamed to EBOOT.BIN (like i was explaining many times) -> call function to the debugger -> sprx/modules loader.

Let's do a small test...

1300°
135w ago - Following up on the previous update of my PS3 4.00 Dev_Flash mod, today I've released version 2 of my PS3 4.00 HFW (Hybrid Firmware).

Download: [Register or Login to view links]

Change Log:

Version 2:

  • Adds "Debug XMB Items" to the XMB Column "PlayStation Network" (contains the Debug items found in this column, originally for DEX)
  • Removes the useless "PlayStation Plus" XMB item from the XMB Column "PlayStation Network"
  • Disables Cinavia DRM on all media except Blue-ray.

Version 1:

  • Adds DeViL303's "XMB File Manager" to the XMB Column "Game"
  • Adds "/app_home/PS3GAME/" to the XMB Column "Game" (has no function at the moment, but is here for completeness)

Installation Instructions are the same as before:

1. Be on a firmware 3.55 or less
2. Install the .pup through the XMB (Make sure you have a working hardware flasher as there is no other way to downgrade)

Remember only retail signed .pkg can be installed with this. Have fun. THIS HFW WILL NOT ALLOW HOMEBREW!

Ubisoft Shares Details on Rayman Origins for PlayStation Vita

100°
135w ago - Today PR Specialist Alex Monney at Ubisoft has shared details with fans on Rayman Origins for the PlayStation Vita handheld console.

To quote: Last year, Rayman Origins was released on PS3 to critical acclaim. On February 14, Rayman and his friends return to PS Vita! Even better, the beauty and frantic gameplay of the PS3 will make the transition to PS Vita fully intact.

You'll play as Rayman, Globox or the Teensies as they speed through stages on a mission to free the Glade of Dreams from the Darktoons.

Rayman Origins offers a playful hand-drawn art style and accessible platforming gameplay, and completionists will find a challenge in gathering all the Electoons and skull teeth. In short, Rayman Origins will deliver entertainment to the new comers and veterans of the platforming genre.

We also have some great PS Vita-specific features available for Rayman Origins. First, for those looking to really appreciate all the hand-drawn art of Rayman Origins, players can pinch the front touchscreen to zoom in, so you can better appreciate the detailed character and level design that our studio in Montpellier worked so hard to deliver.

Playing with a zoomed-in camera view also delivers a new experience and is critical in discovering the game's many hidden secrets.
