Video: SSNES Multi-System Emulator Port for PS3 is Now Available

550°
133w ago - Today PlayStation 3 developers opium2k, Themaister and Squarepusher2 have made available a PS3 port of SSNES (manual reader shader), which is a multi-system emulator for Linux, Windows, Mac OS X and BSD with roots as a SNES emulator.

To quote: Due to be released within the next day or two is version 0.9.5 of SSNES as well as the initial release of the PS3 and 360 ports. SSNES is a multi-platform, multi-system emulator with ports being worked on for PC, OSX, PS3, 360 and a few more I believe.

As I said, it's a multi-system emulator. Don't let the name fool you, it's not just for SNES games! It currently supports games from systems such as NES, SNES, GB, GBC, GBA, SMS, GG, Genesis & FBA using selectable cores from various emulators to ensure the best compatibility, accuracy and performance for the end user.

To demonstrate the capabilities of SSNES and more specifically maister's manual reader shader I've been working on some implementations for the past couple months to show off just a taste of some of this shader's uses.

Here are some screenshots showing some of the uses on roms for the systems that SSNES currently supports:

133w ago - Today BahumatLord has made available a custom PS3 cheat PKG disc backup alongside a video of it in action from Ronin22222 below.

Download: [Register or Login to view links] (1GB) / [Register or Login to view links] (33KB) / [Register or Login to view links] (26.9MB)

To quote: If anyone remembers a wile back when all the commonly used file hosts went down we lost a lot of files. Among them were the cheat pkg files that let you play your game the way you want to. I've made a custom disc backup that has a graphical interface for installing all of the cheat pkg files that I could find.

I thought you guys might like to check it out. There will be updates in the future any time a new cheat pkg is released or if I missed anything on the first release. You will only need to download the main disc backup once. All future updates will be able to be applied by simple drag-and-drop in windows. NO HASSLE GUARANTEE.

Alll credits go to the original posters and to the people that were able to salvage these download links. More info about what these cheat pkg files can do can be found here:
