Edge Magazine Gets Edged Out With Killzone 2 Review for PS3

100°
307w ago - Edge was always a magazine I like reading no matter what kind of reviews they dish out, their perspectives are so well written that it's pretty easy to negate everything else that they offer.

Did their Killzone 2 review push everyone against them, although I do not quite agree with the them, since they have given both Gears of War 2 and Halo 3 a 9 and 10 respectively.

The point is not about justification in an opinion but maintaining a minimum level of consistency and fairness with all their reviews which is a rather impossible task to achieve with the enormous amount of revenues flowing from one publication to another.

Videogame companies have made reviews a mandatory tool to push their own opinion to consumers, rather than providing an honest outlook for games, this field of argument is not restricted just for Edge, but for all major gaming publications who operate in the gaming industry.

It would be rather unnatural to assume that these big companies/publications have a stake in the game itself. Fanboyism makes this proposition even worse, in addition to the large big huge corporations, the pressure of being ignored completely by a particular community also hangs precariously over the heads of these...

XBox 360 RRoD Returns - Isn't This Issue Getting Out of Hand?

350°
307w ago - Similar to what happened [Register or Login to view links], the dreaded 'Red Ring of Death' (RRoD) issue rears its ugly head back with a vengeance.

Microsoft [Register or Login to view links] released a mandatory update, which is causing many of the consoles to RRoD. With all of the launch consoles [Register or Login to view links], will the new update cause problems for many Xbox 360 owners?

After updating my Xbox 360, I experienced some issues with my console. My console successfully updated but when I went into the XBL Marketplace to download a demo, my system suddenly froze. After rebooting the console, it froze again during the boot-up sequence. I started sweating bullets as flashbacks of last Christmas started dancing around my head.

However, my console came back after I unplugged the power source and let it cool down for a bit. I jumped onto the official Xbox forums to see if anyone else had similar issues and to my surprise, other owners were getting the dreaded RRoD. Unfortunately, it seems that the update is bricking many of the consoles...

Many apologies from the team for the slight delay in getting this feature to you.

We like to work at the cutting edge of new technology, and we wanted to bring you something special using the PlayStation 3's new in-game browser and also duplicate the feature on PC.

While the result is yet another awesome Burnout Paradise feature, things didn't go quite according to plan. We wanted you to know that we really appreciate your patience when we experience teething problems like this morning's.

We're particularly glad the feature's now running, because tomorrow we'll be announcing A NEW PREMIUM PACK FOR 2009 using the news area!
