Sony Announces PSN Summer Sale 2011: 30% Off 11 Games

177w ago - Sony Network Entertainment Digital Distribution Manager Ro Hernandez has announced their PSN Summer Sale 2011 begins today, which includes 30% off 11 PlayStation Network games.

To quote: Starting Tuesday, July 12th, 11 hot PS3 games will be available for a cool 30% discount in the PlayStation Store.

And if you're a PlayStation Plus subscriber, you'll be able to download the games at a 50% discount. We've got a sizzling lineup of software, including Scott Pilgrim, PixelJunk Shooter 2 and all five episodes of Back to the Future: The Game, all deeply discounted, as part of the PSN Summer Sale.

Sony Announces the Final PSP and PSPgo Digital Comics Update

177w ago - Today Sony PlayStation Store Director Grace Chen has announced news of their final PSP and PSPgo digital comics update.

To quote: Here are the the latest new comics for the PSP. This week will be the final update for digital comics on the PSP.

The Digital Comics Team will continue to work on bringing the comic service to other Sony devices. We'll make sure to keep you updated with any future developments right here.

In the meantime, you can continue to download any of the over 4,000 existing comics from the comic store as usual. Thanks for your support and we hope you continue to enjoy comics on PSP!

Sony Announces Invizimals The Lost Tribes Coming in November

178w ago - Sony Online Communities Manager Phil Priston has announced today that Invizimals The Lost Tribes will be coming to PSN this November.

To quote: I'm pleased to announce that we will be releasing our third game in the successful Invizimals series this November, entitled Invizimals The Lost Tribes.

The game will have all the features that has made Invizimals such a well-loved franchise in Europe, with Novarama's augmented reality technology enabling you to literally hunt down, capture, battle, customise and trade the magical monsters living in the world all around you.

The story will pick up from where Invizimals Shadow Zone left off, with you as the Hero trying to find Keni after he disappeared into the Shadow Zone or if you're new to the franchise, the game will allow you to begin a new adventure with Jasmin, Alex and the gang.





This time around there will be 150 Invizimals, the most creatures we've ever had on an Invizimals title, with 70 brand new Invizimals and 80 of the community's favourite Invizimals from the previous titles for you to capture, train, customise and battle.

179w ago - Killzone Community Editor Victor Zuylen has announced news of a Killzone 3 PS3 Triple-XP weekend starting today!

To quote: Earlier this week we released the third DLC pack for Killzone 3, "From The Ashes," as well as a DLC bundle containing all three DLC packs. Of course there's only one way to celebrate this momentous occasion – organize a Triple XP Weekend!

You read that right - from Friday, June 24 at 9:00AM Pacific Time, until Monday, June 27 at 9:00AM, all XP earned in Killzone 3's multiplayer matches will be tripled.

So whether you're exploring new DLC maps or just re-acquainting yourself with the stock maps, you'll rank up faster than ever!




 

Sony Announces PlayStation Official App v1.1 is Coming Soon

179w ago - Update: The Sony PlayStation Official App version 1.1 for both Android and iPhone is now available!

Sony Portal Manager Emmanuel Orssaud has announced today that the PlayStation Official App v1.1 is coming soon from the iTunes and Android Market.

To quote: I'm pleased to announce that the next version (1.1) will include some of the most requested features.

This new version will be available for download in a few weeks from iTunes and Android Market. Let's take a look at the new features and improvements.

In the MyPSN section you'll be able to order your friend list based on their online status and search for friends.

You will now have the ability to compare trophy information with your friends in more detail, as shown in the screenshots below.

In the Blog section, you'll now be able to comment directly from the app and also rate the posts in portrait and landscape mode.

There is a new section in the app called Share & Discuss. In there you'll find all our official
PlayStation updates from Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.

Please note that this new version will not support Android 1.6 anymore. Please upgrade your firmware before installing the new version of the PlayStation...
