Sony Announces AdhocParty for PSP Will Be Available Soon

231w ago - Update: According to a comment by Mike Kebby of the SCEE PlayStation Store Team, Adhoc Party will arrive in Europe on December 22, 2009.

Sony's PSP Marketing Manager Kristin Neirinckx has announced today that AdhocParty for PlayStation Portable will be available soon.

To quote: Great news for all of you Ad Hoc fans out there €"adhocParty for the PSP system, which first launched in Japan last year, is coming to North America!

AdhocParty is an online service that allows PSP owners with a PS3 system to connect to one another via the PlayStation Network. It will be available as a free download on the PlayStation Store soon.

So, how does adhocParty work? PSP titles with adhoc mode traditionally require you to play within close proximity to each other. AdhocParty takes advantage of the interoperable capabilities of the PSP and PS3 systems.

It enables you to play games featuring Ad Hoc mode, such as Gran Turismo and Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, over the Internet through the PS3. Your PSP connects to the PS3 via Wi-Fi, allowing you to chat online with fellow gamers in North America before jumping into competition...
 

Sega Announces Bayonetta Special Edition for PS3 and XBox 360

232w ago - Today Sega Europe has announced news of a Bayonetta Special Edition (pictured below) coming on January 8, 2010 to both Sony's PS3 and Microsoft's XBox 360 consoles.

To quote: I€m very pleased to announce that a special edition of our forthcoming game Bayonetta will be available at launch on January 8th.

Available to gamers in the UK, France, Spain and Australia the special edition is presented in a nice slipcase and includes a copy of the game, a lovely artbook and game soundtrack.

SCEE Announces Movies for PS3 Video Service Launch in Europe

233w ago - Today SCEE announced that the video store will launch €sometime late November,€ with films being available in both HD and SD.

The initial wave of titles to the store will include Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, Hannah Montana: The Movie, Bruno, Angels & Demons, Casino Royale, Crank 2: High Voltage and The Hills Have Eyes.

The video store allows users to download the latest releases straight to their PlayStation 3, and will be available in France, Germany, Spain and the UK from November with other markets to follow in 2010.
