Video: Touch My Katamari Heads to PS Vita, Prologue Trailer

100°
133w ago - Namco Bandai Games Community Manager "Filthie" Rich Bantegui has shared a new Touch My Katamari Prologue video trailer today announcing that it will be heading to PS Vita next month.

To quote: We're almost one month away from the PS Vita launch here in North America, and Namco Bandai Games is nearly ready to launch the next chapter in the Katamari saga on February 22nd in North America and Europe.

We've already been over how the new core gameplay mechanics will work: You'll stretch and squeeze your katamari using the rear touchscreen, changing the shape of your rolly ball of fun to better maneuver around each level. What we haven't yet shared is the story!

Watch the prologue video below to get a look at the terrifying revelation uncovered by the King of All Cosmos at the beginning of our stretchy tale. Once the greatest in the universe, the king finds out that his level of cool is now only on par with something he simply won't stand for... thus beginning a redemption tale for the ages!

Check the clip above and be sure to sound off in the comments. February 22nd will be here before you know it!

CES 2012: PS Vita's Augmented Reality Transforms Table to Arena

550°
133w ago - Today Sony's Senior Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein has shared some video footage from CES 2012 spotlighting PS Vita's Augmented Reality, which transforms your table into an arena!

To quote: A couple of months ago, [Register or Login to view links] that showed off some cool-looking augmented reality apps running on PS Vita.

Since then, it's been confirmed that Vita will come with six AR Play Cards and a voucher to download a handful of free augmented reality mini games via the PSN.

Today at CES, we were able to see one of these games in action: Table Football (it will be called Table Soccer in the US, because we already have football).

Backstage, Sony Santa Monica Sr. Manager Dave Thach dealt the AR Play Cards on a table, and a soccer pitch sprung to life through the window of the PS Vita's luscious OLED display.

The actual game is kind of like a turn-based soccer match - it reminded me of a 2012 version of paper football. But enough talk, let's see it in action:

Bonus points if you spotted the Men in Black 3 alien who walked through the frame. Vegas is weird.

Table Soccer is just one of the augmented-reality...

European PSN Updates for January 11, 2012 and PS Store Sale

400°
133w ago - Today Andy Stewart of the PlayStation Store Team is here with the European PSN updates and details on a sale currently going on below, as follows:

Greetings! Another week brings another content update to the PlayStation Store!

To start with, we have AMY from Lexis Numerique - a survival horror game not for the faint of heart.

If you're too frightened then there's Zack Zero, a 3D platform action title from Crocodile.

Demo wise we have Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Asura's Wrath to play around with - two games I am greatly looking forward to!

This week also brings more content for titles ranging from Battlefield 3 (pew pew pew!) to EyePet (pet pet pet?)

Finally, at the bottom of this post you will find answers to some of the most frequent questions in the comments from last week's post.

We're taking this approach because, while we would love to answer everyone and everything instantly, sometimes giving an accurate answer requires further research, legal clearance or approval from one of our third-party partners.

We will still get involved in the comments and endeavour to respond as much as we can; if you're query isn't answered right away then rest assured that we do read them and hopefully it will be addressed...
