Video: Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Powers Up for PlayStation 3

132w ago - Sony Correspondent Andy Burt has posted up a video today spotlighting Tekken Tag Tournament 2 powering up for the PlayStation 3 entertainment system!

To quote: Though Tekken Tag Tournament 2 has been available in arcades since earlier this year in the States (and back into September in Japan), the revamped PS3 version brings numerous new characters and a new training mode that re-imagines the series' previously established mini-games.

While the main fighting mechanics of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will feel familiar to anyone acquainted with the series' staccato combat style, the console version introduces a few new ways to lock horns with worthy competitors.

You can now fight opponents in several configurations - two against two, two against one, and one against one - and each of these modes is available at any time.

In matches that pit one character against two, the disadvantaged player receives a more generous life bar but obviously cannot switch fighters when the going gets rough. Conversely, the player with two fighters will have to pay close attention; in true Tekken tag form, you'll lose the round if either character is KO'd.

During the Namco Bandai Gamer's Day, the developers...

100°
132w ago - Lead Designer Rowan Parker has announced today on Sony's PlayStation Blog that PixelJunk 4am will be hitting PSN on May 15, with a Beta coming soon as well!

To quote: We've been developing PixelJunk 4am for quite some time now.

It's hard to know if you're done with no other measuring sticks lying around to use as a gauge, however I think we're almost there! I'll just leave this here.

PixelJunk 4am and the free PixelJunk 4am - Viewer will be released and available for download on the PlayStation Store from May 15th.

Lots of you have been asking for more details regarding the kind of 'actual' musical freedom you can look forward to using with your PlayStation Move. So here we go.

We've created various different events you can choose from to play live. Different events will present you with different mixes of songs, visualizers and a new mood to go with each one. You then take this event live on PSN and make it your own, crafting and performing it however you want.

Here's some numbers for everyone. Each song has 4 track instruments you can use: a Drum, Bass, Rhythm and Synth. Each track then has 4 different looping samples and four one-shot sounds in space around you that you can use.

All of the loops and samples are different for each...

Dragon's Crown Update: Atlus Publishing Title for PS3 and PS Vita

250°
132w ago - Atlus Manager of Public Relations and Sales Aram Jabbari has confirmed today that they will be publishing the upcoming video game entitled Dragon's Crown for both PS3 and PS Vita platforms.

To quote: You know how you're really excited for something and then something happens and you get even more excited?

Like that time you found out they were making a movie for The Hobbit and you were excited... but kinda bummed that Peter Jackson wouldn't be directing it.

But guess what happened: Peter Jackson announced that he would in fact direct it, and you got a heck of a lot more excited. Right?

Remember Dragon's Crown, the next project from Vanillaware announced at last E3, a multiplayer action RPG with beautiful hand-drawn visuals slated to come to PS3 and PS Vita?

BREAKING NEWS: Atlus is taking over publishing duties in Japan and North America! What's more, key (and very talented) members of the Atlus internal development team will be involved with the project as producer(s).

You know, some of the people who've worked on games in the critically acclaimed Persona series. Yeah, we know: we're stoked, too!

What does this mean for the game? For one, it means that it's going to be better than ever. It will, however, come a bit later than originally...

Video: JFW-DH 3.56 MA PS3 CFW Dynarec PSX iSOs Demo Arrives

1500°
132w ago - Following up on their previous update, today the Spanish PlayStation 3 developers at DemonHades have made available a demonstration video of JFW-DH 3.56 MA PS3 CFW running PSX iSOs including Resident Evil through emulation by the Dynarec system.

To quote from Chekco, roughly translated: Hello friends, today I come to present a powerful tool for Dynarec devs exclusively for our JFW.

Dynarec MA is a port to the old and powerful touch-up system made by AerialX lv2 (Creator of PSL1GHT) over there in 2010 as many touristy even ignore the fact that not everything old is useless, Kammy in the parcheaba 3.41 lv2 to get it ready to run dynamic code recompilation (known by many developers as Dynarecs).

In 3.41 was reached even shuffling dreamcast emulator but the future of this was not very fast because this kind of thing that limited many developers but had kammy is also possible to debug easily (Receive Printfs by socat network) besides having the ability to run JIT code (Anonymous could put to good use to this in his Emulator which only rulaba Dynarec well (best speed close to the full-speed) on 3.41 so far...)

This video shows how MA356 supports the new or revamped Dynarec,...

Video: One Piece: Pirate Warriors is Brawling Exclusively on PS3

250°
132w ago - Sony Correspondent Andy Burt has shared some video footage below today of One Piece: Pirate Warriors which will be brawling exclusively on the PS3 entertainment system later this year.

To quote: "One Piece" is a household name in Japan, where the mangas and anime series are among the most popular series of all time.

The series follows Monkey D. Luffy, a seafaring pirate in search of treasure on the high seas, who possesses the strange ability to stretch his limbs to cartoonish lengths after eating a mysterious fruit.

While only a handful of the games created in the One Piece universe have seen releases Stateside, the release of PS3-exclusive One Piece: Pirate Warriors sees the series return to the US.

I recently went hands-on with a Japanese build of the game at Namco Bandai's Gamers Day, checking out Pirate Warriors' brawler-based gameplay and over-the-top anime antics.

Pirate Warriors embraces the combat stylings of the Dynasty Warriors series, pitting series protagonist Monkey and a number of other playable characters against wave upon wave of enemies; the playable demo Namco had on-hand showed off the impressive number of enemies the game can display at any given time.
