1500°
133w ago - This holiday weekend Spanish PlayStation 3 developer JaicraB has released PS3 Preloader Advance, a rewritten LV2Diag.self that allows restoring the Dev_Flash.bin file (to fix semi-bricked PS3 consoles) and has been tested on JFW DH CFW although it should work on all Custom Firmware he states.

To quote, roughly translated: Already available the tool to reset any "/ dev_flash". It is but a program that runs without external modules.

Why we find it being unable to load basic libraries housed in the "/ dev_flash" we must use direct syscalls to the kernel. The compilation is clean STUB external modules, hence it only takes a few KB ...

The function is to load the file "/ dev_usb000/flash1.bin" and write in RAW mode to the "/ dev_flash". But not before mounting the "/ dev_flash" Write mode.

It's simple but effective. There are dangers of bricks, but backup mistake or left unfinished for various reasons.

In principle works in all FIRMS, but mainly is designed to JFW-DH356MA by semibricks problems and instead of HDD when the system stored inside the "/ dev_flash".

But you have...

133w ago - Following up on their previous update, this weekend Spanish PlayStation 3 developer DemonHades via RacingLocura07 has made available USaveMe v1.0, a PS3 Game Save Manager for JFW DH 3.56 MA Custom Firmware (CFW) alongside a video of it below.

To quote, roughly translated: Good people! I bring you something and I was anticipating demon!

The USaveMe to copy the saves to a flash drive to take them to another PS3 then take them as their own! Its operation is simple and is explained in the main screen of the application.

The main idea is save and copy it to a Pendrive, then when you're in another PS3 and copy the save and restore the database from the recovery mode and automatically adjusts to save the ps3!, You can also once stuffed with usaveme, USB normally copy and create the method introduced by Sony as usual

Here is a video demonstration:

I want to thank the users help me test Kikyo especially for testing, to DemonHades it was the structure and graphic design and users who helped me out when I had questions!

Video: PS Vita Save Game Exploit Confirmed, HBL is Coming Soon

1300°
133w ago - Following up on the rumor from last week that a PlayStation Vita Hello World was achieved through a PSP Save Game exploit, today established PSP hacker wololo has confirmed it and stated that a Half-Byte Loader (HBL) is incoming!

To quote: Last week, an exploit on the PS Vita through the PSP emulator was announced by Mamosuke. The exploit was found by Teck4, and, we won't stress it enough, is a PSP exploit that gives us user mode access within the PSP emulator on the Vita. So this is not a Vita exploit per se, but it's still very cool.

Mamosuke confirmed this with a video a few days ago, and today I was able to confirm the exploit myself as shown in the video below (and I must admit that I spent way too much time working on that basic flame effect). The video below shows the exploit running on both a PSP 1000 and the PS Vita.

Here's also a screenshot since there is not autofocus on my stupid camera.

I spent a good amount of time today confirming some of my hopes that it will be possible to run HBL, at least to some extent, with that exploit. It doesn't mean I have...

Video: Resistance: Burning Skies - George Washington Bridge

250°
133w ago - Sony Senior Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein shared a new video demo of Resistance: Burning Skies for PlayStation Vita today spotlighting play through the George Washington Bridge.

To quote: I can't wait to finally be able to play a proper FPS on the go, and that time will come when Resistance: Burning Skies launches for PlayStation Vita in 2012.

Recently, Rob Huebner of developer Nihilistic talked us through the newly-revealed George Washington Bridge area of RBS.

Since this is Day 1 of the Chimeran invasion, don't expect a leisurely jaunt across the Hudson River; the bridge is lousy with Chimeran Scouts, armed with infrared beam-enabled sniper rifles.

In this video, Huebner narrates as producer Frank Simon drags and drops grenades right where he wants them.

Also, take note of touch-screen melee controls, the first person cover system, the touch-activated weapon wheel, and the Sixeye sniper rifle's alt-fire mode.
