Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Hits Next Week, Only on PS3

299w ago - Per Hiroshi Matsuyama (CyberConnect2) via PS Blog today:

Hello, PlayStation.Blog readers, I'm Hiroshi Matsuyama from CyberConnect2, the developer of NARUTO: Ultimate Ninja STORM. I'm very excited to have this opportunity to speak with you all about the game. Since this is my first post, I'll cover the basics today.

I'm sure some of you that have seen our trailers for the game have thought "I bet this is just a pre-rendered movie" - but it's not! Everything from all of our trailers is 100% real-time footage from the game running on PLAYSTATION 3 hardware that you will all be able to experience when the game is released next week.

Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm features two main game modes for players to enjoy - "Free Battle Mode" and "Ultimate Mission Mode." In Free Battle Mode, you can play as one of 25 characters from the animated series. The battles aren't strictly one-on-one either - you can bring two support characters into every battle, who will help you out in short bursts.

This is the same three person team structure as the TV series, but now you can create your own teams with all sorts of original combinations. We've put a lot of effort into our battles to...

Video: MotorStorm Pacific Rift - One Week Until the Invasion!

100°
300w ago - Product Manager Ed Loonam shared the following update via PS Blog for MotorStorm fans today:

One week to go until the launch of MotorStorm Pacific Rift. Hopefully you've been getting some good information on the game from Nigel and the team from Evolution Studios in their weekly MotorStorm Monday posts.

If you haven't seen it yet, please keep your eyes out for the recently completed commercial of MotorStorm Pacific Rift. In an effort to introduce the new, remote island location, there were a few real-life Stormers who strapped into their atvs, bikes, buggys and trucks and jumped from a C-130 Hercules at 10,000 feet in an effort to start the evasion of Pacific Rift.

No special effects on this jump... just pure adrenaline and gritty attitude. Check out the commercial above along with some photos from the shoot.

301w ago - It all begins here, folks. You're about to be inundated with quality titles from now until Christmas. Dead Space is one we've been eagerly anticipating, so it's great to see its release in the US and Asia this week.

Even better that it'll be waiting for us when we return from TGS. Other notable releases include SOCOM, Rock Revolution and Saints Row 2. When we say "notable," we don't necessarily mean that in a good way. Here's the full release list:

US Games
• Dead Space
• Blitz II: The League
• FIFA Soccer 2009
• SOCOM: Confrontation (with headset)
• SOCOM: Confrontation (without headset)
• Rock Revolution
• Saints Row 2
• Saints Row 2 Collector's Edition
• Golden Axe: Beast Rider

EU Games
• PES 2009
• Saints Row 2
• Golden Axe: Beast Rider

Be aware, however, that DLC is region locked, so those...

302w ago - Did anyone else think that the Fracture demo wasn't as abysmal as you were expecting? Sure, it was the epitome of mediocre third-person action with a gimmick attached, but at times it was almost fun.

Well the full game is out this week in both the US and Europe and, unless you're a European lego fan with vigilante tendencies, that's pretty much it. Oh, except for basketball. Lots of basketball. Here's the full release list:

US Games
Fracture
NBA 2K9
NBA Live 2009
NBA 09: The Inside

EU Games
Lego Batman
Fracture
NBA 2K9
NBA Live 09

Asian Games
NBA 09: The Inside
NBA Live 09
Guitar Hero III
Guitar Hero Aerosmith

Release dates are constantly subject to change, so be sure to check with your local retailer before making any sudden moves. Your PS3 will play games from any region, so go ahead and import anything you see above.

Do be aware that DLC is locked to specific regions, though, so European games will require DLC from the Euro PSN Store. You may also be interested to know that NBA 09: The Inside is the only NBA game to support trophies.

303w ago - Silent Hill is coming home this week. For America and Asia, that is. Europe has about another month to wait, but instead get the latest iteration in the never ending FIFA franchise.

That's it for this week, but here's the info in a handy bullet-point list:

US Games
• Silent Hill: Homecoming

EU Games
• FIFA 09

Asian Games
• Silent Hill: Homecoming

Release dates are constantly subject to change. If you're worried, then check with your local retailer. Europeans, feel free to import Silent Hill: Homecoming, if you're desperate.

Just be aware that imported games must have downloadable content from their respective regions. Not that we suspect Silent Hill: Homecoming will be getting any DLC.
